Hi, my name is Aris and I am very happy to know God because He brings flavor to life. Living without God is like having a meal that is actually really tasty but this one spice which is the reason that it is so tasty is missing so that the tasty meal is actually not tasty. I love life and think that in spite of the many storms, obstacles, unexpected turns, oppression, and evil, life is beautiful (see my blog) and very well worth living and enjoying. The last several months were a journey for me to grab a hold of that truth in a new way. Since there are tough things and fierce storms in life (and I had a lot of that in the last 12 months), it is easy to be downcast and tense a looot and almost resign in the hope for “happy tiiiimes” (I liiiiiiike), but I have come to realize that it is such a waste of time and energy to be downcast and that in spite of difficulties I made the decision to celebrate and enjoy life. Because independently of things that try to wear us out, there is a God who promises us abundant life. And I can focus on the evil or I can focus on God? Nobody can make that choice for me…and I prefer focusing on God. And there are many beautiful things in life that make life worth living. I have many interests as you can see under “Aris..s interests.” I think that in life we need perseverance and passion to stand through the battles of life and fight for a noble cause, and at the same time it is important to not be so tense and to relax and enjoy and have fun. I think an important key to life is discovering that these two aspects don’t contradict each other, but complement each other. I like being myself. It is so much easier to be you than try to be perfect or please everybody else. I would much rather have some people be pissed off @ me (which there are…) than enslave myself to the expectations of others. Even though the process of discovery will continue till this life is over, I have learned a lot about myself in the last six months and am much more free to be myself. I love seeing people discover who they are and who God created them to be, live out their identity and use their gifts for others. I want to leave a legacy in this life and live a life full of meaning because I think it is pretty depressing if you live a life on this earth and one day die and have not changed or impacted others so that when you die you are forgotten and you have passed on nothing. All of us are uniquely created and have a lot to give to this world. I like chocolate and flying in airplanes a loooot. Also cool and creative coffee places. I consider starting one in some years.
