About Me

After fronting cover bands for over 20 years, I retired and later moved to New Jersey from California. A friend of my daughter who is a recording engineer (Shaun Marcoon) invited me to his studio in Philly after hearing one of my early recordings fron the 60's. What started out as a one-time deal ended up lasting two years (!) until Shaun relocated to San Diego.During that period I learned a lot about the recording studio process, and later equipped my own home studio with some basic equipment. I've since recorded several cds in my home studio over the past 8 years. Since I rarely do live gigs, this set-up is ideal for me, and eliminates the hassel of dealing with a live band. Last year I replaced my analog deck with a Tascam 8 track digital deck.My son Chris (Christian Martucci) has been performing for several years, first in Philly and NYC with the Strychnine Babies and the Dogtown Balladeers. After moving to LA he was on tour with Dee Dee Ramone up until Dee Dee's death. More recently he was in the Chelsea Smiles, and lately has a group in LA called Black President.I'd like to hear from others out there with similar interests who are involved with the same kind of home recording set-up. LOU MARTUCCI.
