Brooke Davis is shown to be a rich, popular and promiscuous head cheerleader at Tree Hill High. She first appears in Episode 1.03, as Peyton Sawyer's best friend. Initially, her crazy antics are responsible for a lot of comic relief in the show. She takes a liking to Lucas Scott, and starts hitting on him in her usual way. Lucas takes it in stride, and does not feel that Brooke wants to be in a relationship with him. At the same time, Peyton ends her relationship with Tree Hill High's star basketball player Nathan Scott and feels a lot more attracted to his very different half-brother Lucas, who's attracted to her as well. One night, after Peyton is drugged at a party, Brooke calls Lucas for help. And while caring for a drugged-out Peyton, Lucas sees a whole new side of Brooke; he realizes that she may seem all fun, but she can be caring too. That night, Lucas and Brooke form a bond. Eventually, Lucas and Brooke start dating. But halfway into the new relationship, Lucas realizes that his feelings for Peyton are too strong to be ignored, and vice versa. Deciding to keep Brooke in the dark, the two start a secret affair. However, Brooke soon finds out, much to her anger, that her 'boyfriend' is cheating on her...with her best friend since the 3rd Grade! Furious, Brooke ends her relationships with both of them. Slowly, however, Brooke starts getting along with Peyton after Lucas hurts her by hooking up with Nikki (Emmanuelle Vaugier), a random bar slut who would turn out to be the mother of Jake Jagielski's daughter, Jenny. Graudually, Brooke forgives Lucas for what he had done as well, and befriends him once again. Second Season In the beginning of the 2nd Season, Tree Hill High gets two new students: siblings Felix and Anna Tagarro. Felix , is a cocky, 'player' kind of guy, and Brooke's neighbour too. He befriends Mouth and hits on both Peyton and Haley (who, by now, is married to Nathan) on his very first day at Tree Hill High. Haley aptly describes him as a 'Brooke in pants'. Sparks fly between Brooke and Felix, and after some initial flirtation, the two start dating. Later, Mouth tells Brooke that he is in love with her too, but she thinks of him as a 'little brother' and continues to date Felix. A drunk and disappointed Mouth smashes Brooke's windshield. Thinking that Felix did it, Brooke breaks up with him briefly. Lucas, meanwhile, also wants to be her boyfriend, but when he goes to tell this to her, he sees Brooke and Felix together: Felix has convinced her that his feelings are true. Brooke eventually evolves from a no-worries party girl to an ambitious young woman, and she decides to run for Student Body President, against students who are much more studious, hard working and experienced than her. Brooke doesn't back down even in the face of dirty politics by one Erica Marsh (Katherine Bailess), and wins the post of Student Body President after Mouth delivers a touching recommendation speech to a packed auditorium for her. She quickly befriends Mouth once again, as well as Erica. Then, Brooke finds out that her parents are moving to California. She does not want to move, and after unsuccessfully persuading them to let her stay with Peyton, Brooke is shocked when she finds out the surprise Lucas has in store for her: Karen has convinced Brooke's parents to let her stay with her, in Lucas' room, till December, since Lucas is living with Dan. Not only that, but Lucas has already arranged all her stuff in his room. A teary-eyed Brooke thanks Lucas for doing so much. Brooke also finds out that it was Felix who spray-painted the word 'DYKE' on Peyton's locker and finally sees him for what he is. She immediately breaks up with Felix. He is also kicked out of Tree Hill High as a result of his actions and moves to military school. At last, December arrives, and as Brooke is about to leave for California, Lucas finally confesses his true feelings to her. Third Season As the 3rd Season begins, Brooke realizes that deep down, she has had feelings for Lucas since she first met him. But, she still remembers how ugly things turned 2 years ago as a result of Lucas dating both her and Peyton, and is afraid of getting hurt again. She decides that they can date, but nonexclusively. However, there's a small problem: Lucas refuses to date other girls. So Brooke introduces a 'Fantasy Boy Draft' and accidentally sets him up with Rachel Gattina a new cheerleader whom she's jealous of. The two butt heads and fight for the affections of Lucas. Finally, when Rachel is attracted to and starts dating Nathan's Uncle Cooper, Brooke and Lucas are reunited. Meanwhile, Peyton is staying with Jake, and is considering marrying him, but he helps her figure out that she might still have feelings for Lucas. Jake encourages her to go to Tree Hill and see if her feelings are true. If they aren't, he will always be waiting for her. Brooke, as well as Peyton herself, separately find things which suggest that Lucas could be attracted to her. Peyton then reveals to Brooke that she has feelings for Lucas, bringing back the 'triangle'. Although Peyton thinks of the confession as an attempt at honesty, Brooke is enraged once again, and promptly ends her friendship with a teary-eyed Peyton, slapping her and calling her a "backstabbing two-faced bitch". Furthermore, Brooke tells Peyton that she doesn't care if she will never see her again. She also tells her that she has 'so much going on in her life', indicating that she might be pregnant...
