Third Avenue and The Grand Turn:When we needed it the most: Third Avenue is the band which with its debut album The Grand Turn is ready to fill the world with its melancolic and seeking leftfield pop. With The Grand Turns 10 piano based, conventional and limitless pop songs, Third Avenue releases the album Billy Joel should have made with Glass Houses. The Grand Turn is the soundtrack 2008 needs.Third Avenue has what you might call an eclectic background. Øystein Grønnevik (vocal/guitars) was involved in the Norwigian pop idol show, by accident. Svein Kersbergen (piano/bass) has a slightly different musical background, having spent the best part of the last few years – creating magic in his basement. He and his brother (Oliver) had formed an alternative group called Sleepyard.
This formed the basis to the song writing partnership which gave Third Avenue its foundation. Rolf Thore Eilertsen (bass/guitar) and the mighty Bernt Yngve Kvam (Drums) climed on to the good ship Third Avenue for the recording of the album The Grand Turn. They have been loyal crew members ever since. Both have a jaggid and jaded view of the music world, having been giging in various bands round Stavanger longer than Mick Jagger has been scratching his clap infected balls.Record label: CCAP
