Quintero is a trip-hop/downtempo trio based in Philadelphia. Quintero’s members have roots in Colombia, England, Canada, and the States. This broad musical knowledge helps to give Quintero its unique cosmopolitan feel. They provide a dynamic live experience, blending electronica, jazz, and pop. Listeners may recognize a Bristol-sound influence in Quintero’s music, yet they represent a fresh addition to the budding trip-hop/downtempo scene in Philly.
The Forbidden World, Quintero’s debut LP, was independently released in 2007.
The Forbidden World displays a purer downtempo/trip-hop sound. The record was written, recorded, produced, and mixed by the two founding members of Quintero: Ish Quintero and Bevin Caulfield. The band’s live sound includes three more members, Matt Bell, Greg Morgan, Roger Thomasson and Dj Trach Metropolis to round their music with Dub, Jazz, Folk and Drum and Bass influences.
Quintero has brought its live sound to many venues in Philadelphia, New York City and Pittsburgh. Its album has been welcomed by different radio stations, not only in the States but also around the world. Some of this radio stations worth noting are: WXPN Philadelphia, PBS Radio Melbourne Australia, Evryone’s Radio Paris France, WhistleRadio, Whitchurch Ontario Auralgasms Internet Radio.
