The Chamber Choir of Tallinn University of Technology was founded in 1966 by the best singers of the university's male and female choirs. Today the choir mostly consists of the students and graduates of the university, but there are also several young singers from elsewhere. The choir has a wide-ranging repertoire - from early music to contemporary choral pieces.Since 1996 the conductor of the choir has been Peeter Perens. He has graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music in choral conducting and singing. In 2001 he participated in the Europa Cantat Contest for Young Choral Conductors and won a Special Prize. Mr. Perens also conducts the Academic Male Choir of Tallinn University of Technology.Throughout the years the chamber choir has participated in many choir festivals and contests in Estonia and abroad. The most important achievements are:2004 - 1st Prize Cum Laude at the International Youth Choir Festival in Veldhoven, the Netherlands;
