Newest edition to our team welcome WR Calvin Johnson
Round-1 2nd overall pick *********This man is a true freak. At 6'5 240 pounds and 4.35 40yard dash this man across from Roy Williams I think is going to actually work out and be destructive, and dont forget about whiteboy Furrey.
Best of Calvin Johnson videoPOSTIVIES :::::: Has a tall, thick frame with long arms, large hands, thick thighs and calves and a big bubble … His long legs let him ride up on the defender quickly while looking effortless in his stride … Shows good closing speed running under sideline throws and the quickness to get into his routes without being impeded … Good power receiver on crossers and sideline throws, using his strength and size to shield the ball from defenders … Has strong hands to secure the ball before running (no fumbles) and the second gear to turn a short pass into a long gainer … Very physical in his initial step off the ball, but he also has the quickness to immediately defeat the press … Best when operating along the sideline where he can build to top speed and maintain it throughout his route … Knows how to use his body and has a knack for finding the open spots in the zone … In man coverage, he is very adept at using his burst to separate consistently … Has the long arms and body control to go over people to get to the ball and did it with more regularity in 2006 than in the past … Knows how to get open and understands sticks and boundaries, doing a nice job of keeping his feet in bounds … Big target who can't be rerouted by a strong hand push and is learning how to use his long arms to go over defenders (did not have any passes deflected through five 2006 games, compared to 21 during the first 24 games of his career) … Can be very explosive in his rise and shows natural hand extension to reach and pluck away from the frame … Generates a strong jolt with them to defeat the press and works hard with his hands to sustain when blocking in-line … It is rare to see him use his body to field the ball, as he is perfectly capable of extending for the pass at its high point … Terrific load to bring down after the catch … Strong open-field runner who will drag defenders when fighting for extra yardage … Even though there is not a lot of shake in his hips and he is a bit of a long strider, he runs with the power needed to break tackles consistently … Uses his hands with force to lock on and sustain and can generate devastating cut blocks in the open … Can dominate smaller defensive backs and shows good angles getting out to neutralize second-level defenders … Stays low in his pads and shows good intent when delivering his hand punch vs. the bull rush … Has that deceptive burst that lets him gobble up the defender's cushion in an instant … Has excellent body control for a player his size, contorting and adjusting to get to the off-target throws with ease … Has the second gear needed to separate after the catch and demonstrates very good head fakes and spin moves to leave defenders grasping at air … Will not hesitate to stretch out and sacrifice his body to make the catch … Knows how to use his long legs to turn on the extra gear to get under the ball in a hurry … When he times his leaps and catches with fingers extended, he can reach and pluck the ball in jump-ball battles.____________________________________________________

______________________________________Round-2 Pick 43 Overall *********** QB Drew Stanton outta Michigan state. I've heard many people say that this guy is all around better than kitna with his throwing power and accuracy. At 6'3 235 pounds he pretty much has a ideal stature for a QB. I'm givin him a chance we'll see.
1st look of Stanton with Mike Martz in the background. Hopefully Martz helps this guy on the way to being special.
Check out this video of Stanton its kinda long but I really look at him differently now. The video is cool how it breaks down film on his running, passing, and pass on the run abilities. This is a must see!Positives:::::: Has a well-built, natural frame with good arm length, broad shoulders, developed chest, good bubble, thick thighs and room to add more bulk … Has room on his frame to add at least another 15 pounds of bulk without it affecting his quickness … Has thick chest muscles, more in the line of a linebacker, with defined calves … Shows good athleticism, with nimble feet that defenses must always account for … Demonstrates a very lively arm with a quick throwing motion and good speed to gain valid yardage into the second level … Mentally tough player who knows he has to play mistake-free football to compensate for a poor receiving corps and marginal pass protection … Takes the plays from the chalkboard to the field with no problems and has great mental alertness and solid field vision … Excels in the classroom, earning academic honors five times … Has a fluid throwing motion with good arm strength and above-average pocket mobility … Quick to drop back from center to his throwing point when playing in a traditional offense (but the team used the shotgun more often) … Has a quick delivery and a high release, demonstrating the mechanics and arm strength to fire tight ropes down field … Shows balance and body control on the move and consistently sprints back to his pass set point … When under center, he moves quickly and is ready to throw at the end of his drop … Throws with a tight circle and flicks the pass out quickly … Carries the ball chest high and does a nice job of stepping into his throws … Take-charge type in the huddle … Shows good accuracy and touch and is very effective at hitting his receivers in stride on short and intermediate routes, even when he falls away from some of his tosses … Puts good zip on the ball over the middle, showing the overall arm strength to have good success at the next level … Best when taking a three-step drop and flicking the ball out quickly than when using a five-step approach (line deficiencies result in costly sacks) … Throws a catchable ball underneath and does not make the receivers adjust in their routes … Even when rolling out, he shows good touch on his short and intermediate throws … When he sets his feet, Stanton is very capable of getting good placement on the deep ball, especially when he puts it on the outside shoulder of his targets … Will generally hit his targets coming out of their breaks, as his passes come out with good touch and velocity … Knows when to take something off his dump-off passes and is very effective at feathering the ball over the top of the defenders … His quick feet allow him to escape the pass rush and buy time … Can scramble and throw on the move, but needs to be more patient, as he tends to force some throws … Adept at stepping up to find the throwing lanes … Has good straight-line speed and the loose hips and wiggle to elude the defender in the open … Won't win many foot races down field, but has the leg drive to break tackles and the lower-body power to drag defenders for extra yardage … His mobility allows him to escape pressure and he rolls out by design, showing the athletic agility and skills to be an effective runner … Shows good accuracy and zip on his roll-outs to his left and his feet allow him time to find his secondary targets … Puts good zip behind his out passes and knows how to vary the speed on his throws to loft it over the defender … Conscious of sticks and chains when forced to run with the ball, but needs to learn how to slide and avoid, as several of his injuries in 2006 were the result of taking the defender head-on.____________________________________________________

___________________________Round-2 Pick 58 Overall ******* DE Akaika Alama-Francis outta Hawaii. This guy is going to be in my eyes be a pro bowler within 3 years. At 6'5 280 pounds His size and speed along with great coaching are going to turn this guy into a pro machine.
6'5 280pounds and extremely athletic. This kid is made of potential. Looking good in the Honolulu blue.
Draft Review of our boyPositives:::::: Has a thick build with broad shoulders, thick thighs and calves and a frame that can carry at least another 15 pounds of bulk with no loss in quickness … Has excellent speed for a player his size … Shows the lateral movement to close when working down the line … Physical collision-type tackler who might lack good overall hand usage, but can shock and jolt blockers with his punch … Has that explosive initial burst to surprise a lethargic offensive tackle when coming off the edge … Disruptive in backfield pursuit, as he plays until the whistle … Times his leaps well and has the long arm reach to knock down a fair share of passes at the line of scrimmage … Hustles in pursuit and is a good practice player with a desire to learn … Has the quick feet, good balance and smooth change of direction agility to make plays along the perimeter … His urgency getting to the quarterback shows on film, as you can see him leap over blockers and use his forward body lean, bulk and strength to press the pocket … Pursues the plays with good ease-of-movement and maintains his quickness on the move … Has the functional instincts needed to find the ball in a crowd … Plays at a high pad level at times, but has the strength to hold ground at the point of attack … When he keeps his pads down, he shows proper knee bend in his change of direction to string out running plays … Shows above average quickness off the edge and has developed a feel for knowing when he can out-finesse the slower blockers with his outside swim move … Uses his arms well to get a good inside push and has started to collect an array of counter moves to the inside … Shows quickness in his spin move and is developing a good feel for working on an offensive guard's edge when shooting the inside gaps … Still needs to wrap better, but is a decent collision-type tackler who extends his arms to grab and drag down the ball carrier, showing strength and quickness when closing … Will run down balls from the backside and gives a consistent effort while playing with a high motor … Unlike most big men, he is perfectly capable of redirecting to zero in on a mobile quarterback … Shows a good burst in pursuit and showed good improvement in 2006 anchoring and holding ground vs. the double team (needs to be more active with his hands to split them, though). ____________________________________________________________

__________________________________Round-2 Pick 61 Overall********* Safety/CB Gerald Alexander from Boise State. This man is a warrior at 6' 210 pounds hes a tweeker that can play both positions and be great for our cover 2 Defense, not to mention his tackling skills are great.
************************************************************
**********Alexander tackling RB Adrian Peterson in the Bowl game.Which Boise State actually won in like triple overtime
This guy set the School Record for the High Jump with 6feet 6inches. WOW!!
First look of Alexander in Lions gear
Watch Alexander Light this dude UP!!Positives: Has an athletic, well-built frame with well-proportioned muscle tone, lean, yet well-defined legs and minimal body fat … Tough and durable player who is a better fit at safety, as he shows better ability to make plays on the ball and lacks good man coverage and backpedal skills to be an efficient cornerback … Shows the balance and agility to close down hill … Better athlete than a football player, as he shows good body control and change of direction agility and excellent leaping ability, thanks to time spent in track … Made quicker decisions working in the short area as a safety than at cornerback, showing aggression while making proper reads in run support … Good game planner who plays until the whistle … Has only adequate speed to cover receivers on deep routes, but shows better hip flexibility and transitioning out of his backpedal while playing safety than he did at cornerback … Has the leaping ability to reach the ball at its high point, as he catches and secures the ball away from the framework … Has a strong straight-line charge, but needs to square up better making the tackle (tends to take a side) … Stays in control, using his hands properly to redirect the tight ends … Smooth open-field runner with a decent initial burst … Does a good job of keeping his pads down and filling the rush lanes.______________________________________________________

Round-4 Pick 105 overall*********** CB A.J. Davis from North Carolina State (Mario Williams). At 5'10 192 Davis is a former Track star and once clocked in running the 40 yard dash at a 4.28 WOW. Although He does need to work on his tackling skill a little. #3
This guy is fast ya'll and we are lucky with this steal in the 4th round.
I put 100$ this guy def makes the team. Speed,Agility,Acceleration etc.
If you watch closely you can see Davis wearing jersey # 3 picking off two passes.Positives:::::: Has exceptional quickness and good lateral range … Shows above average leaping ability that he uses effectively to win most jump ball battles … Has loose hips to come out of his backpedal smoothly and does a very good job of flipping his hips to maintain relationship with the receiver throughout the routes … His agility and flexibility lets him stick tight with the receiver and despite his short arms, he is very capable of riding up his opponent to get to the ball at its high point … Alert to blocking schemes and it is rare to see him bite on head fakes or pump action by the quarterback … Quick to recognize the play developing and unlike most young cornerbacks, he will not eye the quarterback long, rather using his hand/eye coordination to mirror his coverage assignment throughout the route … Has that sudden burst to recover when a receiver manages to slip past him on crossing routes … Demonstrates the loose hips to come out of his breaks cleanly and has that quick change of direction agility to maintain his timed speed without having to throttle down … Has that natural, smooth turn and burst of speed that lets him catch up and close with good urgency … Possesses very good balance and body control in his pedal … Quick and smooth through transition and does a good job of distributing his weight to turn and run on the ball … Takes a quick pitter-patter approach in his pedal with very good heel pivot motion … Can sink his hips to turn and has very good balance coming out of his breaks … Is a master at reading the receiver's eyes and hips to maintain relationship in the route … Has excellent leaping ability and timing to know when to go vertical and beat the taller receiver for the ball at its high point … Rarely lets the receiver separate from him after the catch and even when that happens, he has the second gear and ability to take proper angles to shorten the field and close … Not only gets very good elevation, but he times his leaps to get to the ball at its highest point … Has no concerns about getting a piece of the ball when matching up against the taller receivers, sort of relishing the challenge of taking the vertical route to make the play while giving up considerable inches in height in the process … Much better making plays in space, where he can take angles to close … When taking on receivers, he will produce better pop than when having to square up at the line of scrimmage. ____________________________________________________________

Round-4 Pick 117 Overall********** The lions selected a O-Lineman here to add to our allready stacked line. Manuel Ramirez is a G from Texas Tech he's a solid 6'3 335 pounds. This guy is a 4 year starter in college and could possibly turn into a starter in the pros.
Future starting Guard????
Positives:::::::: Has a thick frame with a barrel chest, broad shoulders, wide waist and hips, big midsection, long arms, large hands and very thick legs and calves, yet he still has room for at least another 10 pounds of additional growth … Dominant pass protector with a very strong hand punch to shock and jolt … Has good short-area foot speed and balance, as it is hard for a defender to take him off his feet … Has the kick slide to mirror and works hard to finish once he latches on to an opponent … Very alert on the field and calls all blocking schemes up front … Puts in the extra hours watching game films and shows a good work ethic, especially in the training room … Vocal team leader who will not hesitate to take a teammate to task if he feels they are not performing to the best of their ability … Despite his girth, he works hard to keep his pad level down, and when he does so he is much more effective with his initial burst off the snap to gain advantage … Works well in tight areas to gain position in-line and will generally maintain position vs. stunts and the bull rush … Has the hand strength and leg drive to generate leverage and pushes with force to drive the defender out of the rush lanes … Flashes good hand placement on down blocks and uses that strength to maul and move people off the line of scrimmage, even though he is not an explosive hip roller … Shows patience waiting for the defender to come to him, using his footwork to cut off the backside pursuit … When he gets his hands on a defender, he is quick to lock on and control … Adequate drive blocker with good recovery, but will lose balance when he waist bends … Comes out of his stance with legs churning to create a rush lane and has enough functional quickness on pulls and traps in the short area (lacks speed to get out on the long pull, though) … Latches on to the defender well, thanks to his upper body strength … Can locate targets in the second level, but is not used often there … Communicates well with the center and tackle on double teams and uses his size well to occupy space and anchor, dominating in the short area as a pass protector … Sometimes get high in his stance, but has good reach block ability and a strong anchor … Has excellent power behind his hand punch and is able to gain control with his violent jab into the defender's chest … Even when he is late shooting his hands, he works to get them into the opponent's chest … Showed marked improvement in 2006 in attempts to punch and replace his hands in pass protection … Alert to stunts and twists … Has good retreat agility to protect the pocket, playing with a wide base working in-line. ____________________________________________________________

Man this guy looks fast!! I'm rooting for Mr.Irrelevant
For once Mr.Irrelevant has a good chance of making our team and quite possibly contributing.
I actually got film on this guy. Check out Ramzee Pick off a pass for 6 at the end of the game in the Hula Bowl Robinson wears Jersey # 1.Positives:::::: Has a lean, but athletic build with good muscle development, but just lacks ideal bulk … Fast and flexible pass defender who shows quick feet in transition … Has good body control, especially when competing for the jump balls … Possesses the loose hips to turn and run with the receiver throughout the route … Despite physical limitations, he will not hesitate to support vs. the run … Quick-twitch type who closes in a hurry vs. plays in front of him … Has the second gear to recover and get back on the ball and does a nice job of redirecting when pushing in the outside running alleys … Times his leaps well to get to the ball at its high point and shows good concentration while elevating, feeling that he has a chance to get to every throw … Does a good job of tracking the ball over his outside shoulder … More of a grab-type tackler, but will sacrifice his body to make the play or slow the runner down._______________________________________________________
