James “Jay” Jackson, began his career as a club promoter in 1998, promoting popular artists nationwide such as Trick Daddy, Luke, and Lil Jon. He soon after started an independent label, Slick Salt Entertainment in 2000, signing his first artist Lil’ E from Miami. After the success of Lil’ E’s regional hit, “The Realest,” James secured a national distribution deal through WEA in a mere three months. After creating a buzz for an unknown artist in such a short time, he began searching for other artists that he could develop and mold into stardom. He later signed the artists Brisco, D.Banks, and Novicane to his roster. After working with and promoting these artists, he became one of the most sought after A&R’s in Miami. He now manages singer/songwriter Shonie, one of the newest and brightest entertainers in the game to date, as well as up and coming producer's Kane Da Kameleon and Midus. He is currently working with the industries top writers and producers developing songs for artists that are guaranteed to top the charts.
