About Me

Tiya got her energy from the different countries she lived in and from the different phases she went through. She went from the influence of her father, a drummer on the beautiful island of Guadeloupe, to a chamber choir, vocal jazz, experiences in Europe, Canada and the States, rocked by the classical music her step father was passioned by. Strong of her love for the stage, she tried different instruments (she played the drums, the violin and the flute), she also pursued drama and musical theatre. She danced for 7 years and she got her bachelor degree majoring in art – theatre and costumes in the US. When she moved to Paris, she was 21 and the streets of Paris helped to make it an evidence: her instrument was her voice; she has the energy, the vibes and the love to be on stage. That’s simply where she has to be, where her personal path was driving her. After working with different composers, she gained enough self-confidence to define her style and found a team in osmosis with composer Ness. Her voice is like her; influenced by the sun of Guadeloupe and iced by the Canadian winters, she is unpredictable, dynamic but smooth, suave but wild, hilarious but has the “pieds sur terre”. In a word, Tiya’s songs are far enough to take you to different worlds, but close enough to rely to. She is the girl next door who you want to know about and to listen to. Definitely!
