Anthony, the founder of Orias, has always had an interest in music. In 2003 he tried composing his own. He used free custom soundfonts along with Cubase VST5 as his tools. He started to do covers to learn the basics of music. After some time of trial and error he tried to compose his own music and made a couple of decent metal songs. Besides metal, he had a passion for film score music, which was sort of his secret crush. He decided to combine the two, and made the first Orias demo called "The Awakening". He recieved alot of good reviews, and decided to continue his composing. And so the style of Orias was born.
...and he saw that it was good.
In August of 2007 Anthony met with his long time friend Rickard. Rickard was aware that Anthony had been composing for quite a while, and he suggested that they could score chicks if they were to perform the music live. A few weeks later the search for bandmates begun. Rickard found Lowe, an awesome drummer of glory and steel, as well as Timmy (playing guitar) through the swedish svartrockarcommunity known as Helgon.net. Lowe had played with a rhythm guitarist that he thought would be perfect to start a new band with so he brought him along for the first meeting with the band. And thus, Juha joined the band as well. But the band wanted a third guitarist, to fullfill the liveshow experience, so Rickard spoke to Niclas, a great guitarist he knew..
...and they began to see that it would be good..
The lineup was now almost complete, and they started playing some covers together, to see if the chemistry felt right between the members of the band. It did. Lowe beat the hell out of the drums, Rickard bassed the roof off, and the guitarists did what they did best. Anthony sat in the background, played his keyboard, and listened to the rest of the band in awe. Timmy and Niclas duelled with their guitars. They realized that they loved playing together, and so Orias was formed..
...and they saw that it was good..
They started rehearsing their own material, composed by Anthony. There was still one little problem though. They were short of one member. No band is cool without a frontman in the microphone. They needed a singer. So they organized their myspace page, made a logo (courtesy of Lowe), put up some of Anthonys music, and started to search for a singer. They tried everything short of prostitution, but nothing seemed to work. But then, out of nowhere, someone made a late reply to one of their calls. His name was Nico. He took a shot in the dark, and went down to Norrköping from his hometown Stockholm, 150 kilometers away, just to try out for the band. The band met him and gave him a microphone. They sat in awe, just listening to his voice and watching his golden hair. They did not need to look further. They had found their singer. And so, the line-up was full..
...and we saw that it was good..
After a while of rehearsing, Timmy announced that he did not have the time to commit to the band fully, and that he would leave the band. They mourned the loss of their guitarist, but decided to move on with the other two without searching for a replacement.
And since then, everything has been good. As with any other band, Orias does have some issues, mainly concering equipment and the economy involved. In due time, all problems will be solved and Orias will be released upon the public..
