Matt Pless

Matt Pless is a solo artist from Baltimore Maryland. He has played shows all over the country, from the streets and subways of New York City, to sunny Venice Beach California. His music is a familiar, yet unique blend of melodic folk and lyrical wit which makes him a performer to watch…and an artist to hear.Starting his musical career in 1997 as the lead singer songwriter for the punk band, 3 Prong Outlet, which he founded with two other high school friends, he quickly became a musical force to be reckoned with. Propelled by Matt’s instantly catchy melodies and lyrical prowess, 3 Prong Outlet built a name in the Mid-Atlantic music scene, releasing 4 CD’s and serving as the opening act for many big name bands, including Maroon 5 and Fallout Boy. They also played a stint on the Vans warped tour in 2002.In 2004 Matt chose to take his musical endeavors elsewhere. He began the transition toward a less frantic, more folk rock sound. Inspired by some of the finest songwriters in music including John Prine, Bob Dylan and Lennon/McCartney, his writing began to take on new dimensions both musically and lyrically.In 2005 he released his first solo album entitled “Requiems for Wishing Wells” and immediately took off for a tour around the country in a beat up van, playing in bars, coffee shops, on street corners and wherever else he could manage to secure a receptive audience. His travels landed him in the concrete jungles of New York City where he took on the duties of a modern day troubadour, busking for change in the subways and parks, all the while wowing peers and passersby with his uncanny lyrical abilityMatt’s sophomore solo recording titled “Alarm Clock Time Bomb” was released in 2008. The eleven song, full-length CD shows the enormity of his musical growth over a very short time. What he can do with just his voice and a guitar is truly extraordinary.
