METALCHAMP 2008 New outfit, new concept, new chancesDear bands,watch out, it's time again: After a great final at the Metalcamp Open Air 2007 with Viennese band STAUB & SCHATTEN being the glorious winner, the mighty METALCHAMP competition is back now – completely renewed and restructured, ready to find out once more who’s better than the rest and has the balls to be the next METALCHAMP!*** NEW *** NEW *** NEW *** NEW *** NEW *** NEW *** NEW *** NEW ** NEW ***All in all ten METALCHAMP preliminary shows will take place between April and June 2008, with ten bands partaking at each:• three preliminary shows in Vienna, Austria, at Planet Music for partaking bands from Vienna, Northern and Eastern Austria, Burgenland, Styria and Carinthia• one preliminary show in Western Austria (tba) for partaking bands from Salzburg, Tyrol and Vorarlberg• two preliminary shows in Hungary (tba)• two preliminary shows in Czech Republic (tba)• one preliminary show in Slovakia (tba)• one preliminary show in Bruneck, Italy, at the UFONO entry fee has to be paid but a deposit of 35 EUR in advance – the money will be paid back upon accession. The winners of the preliminaries are directly qualified for the big METALCHAMP final which will take place at the Gasometer in Vienna in autumn 2008, along with international Metal acts as star guests. Watch out for a great event plus tons of cool prizes for the top-seeded bands, including:• A slot at a well-known, big and popular festival cooperating with Planet Music in 2009 (t.b.a. as soon as possible) for the overall winner!• Three more appearances at popular open airs!• 2.500 EUR tour support in cash• Material prices worth about 15.000 EUR• And even more…*** NEW *** NEW *** NEW *** NEW *** NEW *** NEW *** NEW *** NEW ** NEW ***There will be NO jury and NO band voting this time – the audience will elect the next METALCHAMP by ballot paper, being given to the people at each preliminary show and of course the big final at the Gasometer. Whoever gets the most votes wins – it’s as easy as that!
