Il y a déjà 5 ans que Calena, Dayane et Veronica ont formé le groupe FreeSouls. Natif de Montréal, le trio prometteur est un mélange de cultures latino-américaine et africaine.
Les filles ont débuté leur carrière en reprenant de leur façon unique des titres déjà connus d’artistes tels que Destiny’s Child, Aretha Franklin et bien d’autres. Elles ont ainsi donné un nouveau souffle de vie, rempli d’harmonies et de plaisirs sonores, à toutes ces chansons.
Plus tard, FreeSouls a continué à nous charmer en nous présentant des titres originaux en collaboration avec des productions locales.
Depuis, le fameux trio a fait des présentations au collège Dawson, est apparu à la télévision dans des émissions telles qu’Étoiles Montantes sur CTGC, a chanté au Festival de la Fête du Canada à Ottawa et a assuré la première partie du spectacle des Frères Tadros au Studio Théâtre de la Place-des-Arts.
Les filles cherchent à toucher le cœur de leur public et l’inspirer à suivre ses rêves à travers leurs chansons et ce qu’elles ont à partager.

*****************************In early 2003, Calena, Veronica Diaz and Dayane participated in their high school talent show by putting up a Motown medley. After much appraisal, they realized that this could be the beginning of a journey; FreeSouls was officially born.
Originally from Montreal, the trio is a mix between Latin-American and African cultures. They all share a solid education in music theory and stage performance which they acquired through singing and playing the trumpet, the clarinet, and the saxophone.
FreeSouls began their career by singing covers from artists such as Destiny’s Child and Aretha Franklin, and also by re-harmonizing other songs like “I Believe I Can Fly†from R. Kelly. With that material, the girls were invited to sing throughout their hometown at various events such as the Kwanza celebration, the sports awards at Dawson College, and at the Racism Awareness day event. Later on, the girls began truly expressing their unique artistic talent by writing and arranging their original compositions in collaboration with Denso Productions.
This collaboration allowed them to perform in other events and even appear in TV shows such as Etoiles Montantes from CTGC. The group won the Etoiles Montantes finals on June 10 2007.
FreeSouls’ music is influenced by various artists ranging from Destiny’s Child, Shakira, and Alicia Keys to Shania Twain, Michael Jackson, and Donna Summer.
The girls’ ultimate goal is to inspire and touch their audience through their songs and musical interpretations. They want to express their artistic ability and individuality in order to incite others to do the same and to follow their own path.
