About Me

Back in The summer of 2003, Ajami Zarmear Allen (better known as Uno) was granted his first drum machine.( The Rhythm Trak 123) Before then, he found ways to put his ideas onto tapes. Soon or later he would come to meet a very inspired musician from Ohio by the name of Warren Ullom that would help him to record them. "Uno( going by the name of "Tha Aj-Z") was confident in his talent and decided to start recording with Warren", said his dad. We all came to ask the question of HOW'D UNO GET HIS NAME? Joel Witt a fellow classmate and artist of Warren and Uno stated. "Uno was always a person that would try new things. Thats what made him a popular kid in high school. I could tell y'all where he got his name from ,but its better to ask the creator", Joel smirked. So we asked Uno. (UNO) Well.... In high school I would do things to stand out. Not because I wanted attention, but because I loved attention. Sometimes I would buy the same shoes(Converse) in different colors and then mix and match them. On one particular day,(when I had braids)just to be different, I decided to put Hot Wheel cars at the end of my braids to compliment my outfit. Although they looked cool, I couldn't turn too quickly or fall asleep in class. (lol) So the next day I had a better plan. I would take Uno cards and put them on the end of my braids. Punch holes in the corners and tie rubber bands through it and rock that shit.(lol) If I had on a Boston Celtics' jersey with the numbers,"34" on it , My two cards on my braids would be numbers 3 and 4 Uno cards. Feel me? So I started with the name Uno. Event hough I don't have braids anymore, I still decided to keep the name. Who doesn't like to say Uno? Everybody love to get the chance to say Uno when playing the game. LADIES....
Next we asked him about a few of his songs. The first song that came up in the discussion was, "Thorough Bred". He replied," Well I spelled it THERO BRED, because its like slang to words. Same as to spelling." This song actually meant a lot to me because its not only letting people know where I'm coming from but where I'm staying at. Tons of people say,"Oh I'm from Atlanta, I'm the shit." They're not from ATL. They just rep it because its whats happening. I've been here since January 1996. It wasn't to make a music career. Like most folks. I wasn't even thinking about music like that back then. I moved with my dad and my step-mom because it was a better job opportunity for blacks up here. My dad didn't have to great of a start in life but when he came here, he made it happen. I'm proud of him for that. On the other hand my mom remained in Florida. So I'm from Florida but I rep Georgia because thats where I've lived over half of my life so far. My mothers in Florida and my dads in Georgia. Hmmmm.... I'm Thero Bred nigga! Its a perfect blend of palm trees and pines. (lol)
[HMM]We later bought up the lovely song "Miss Wonderful Amazing". In this paragraph Uno stated.... That song was a sort of great turning point for me in my life. I had just gotten up out of a nasty break-up, where my old lady was cheating and I had just gotten out of jail in Decatur. Dealing with situations everyday was tough. UNTIL... my "MISS WONDERFUL AMAZING came along. If your out there and reading this, then you know who you are. She was something special. I just had to write a song about her. We later stopped talking because of our very different lifestyles but it remained all good. I remember when I first started recording. Warren told me, "dude don't put a girls name in your songs anymore." I didn't understand at the time why but later on since I listened I found out why. Y'all my Miss Wonderful Amazing left me. You see, if I would've put her name in the song. It would've been a constant reminder of her. So thanks for teaching me that a long time ago Warren.
[Uno] I GOT DEM BEATS...That song was one of my first myspace songs. Many people respected that song. [HMM] why?[Uno] Mainly because I said in the lyrics... "Respect me, not only because I might sing or rap, but because I put together all different styles of music. it could range from soul to hip hop, crunk, etc... Whatever a client might need. But on the other side of the fence.... I'm still doing my thing. Get me? Just because I might switch the style up for this song to the next for a customer doesn't mean that I'm desperate for money. I just know how to do different styles of music. By doing that I'm not limiting myself to one genre. In the end, who is going to make the most money anyways? [HHM] Whats your style? [Uno] I like that style of music that makes the necks jerk and heads bob. I don't try to get too far into politics. Thats not my job as a musician. I leave it to what my vote can do as a single person. Thats what fucked Kanye ass up. (lol)naw he made one lil mistake. But I my nigga put it down recently. Anyways.. My job is to make feel good music. During times of depression I make happy impressions to better enjoy the atmosphere. Feel me?
[HMM]So whats in the future for Uno? [Uno] .. I've been listening to a ton of old school songs. So look out for my throwback efforts. Thanks to all the fans. I love you.
