-----------------------------------------------------Thad Lester
Melbourne, Australia
First captivated by electronic music in the late 80's, Thad has worked in many areas of the music industry. From promoting 'Acid House' nights at ZuZu's and Checkpoint Charlie in 1989 to his own techno nights 'Quasar', 'Deep' and the 'Beyond' series of parties in the early 90's, decor artwork, managing record labels and record stores, through to the current day with 'PUSH' and the 'Sonic Textures' collaborations, it's his passion for electronic music that has maintained his involvement.
This passion led to an instant addiction for vinyl, but it wasn't until 2000 - after having been content playing house parties for over a decade - that Thad finally took an opportunity to play a club gig. Since those few ‘fill in’ spots at QBar on a Sunday, Thad has gone on to play his blend of driving progressive and techno sounds at events including Rainbow Serpent Festival, Interview, Colour Of Sound, Instinct, PUSH, Earthcore, Traincore, Genesis, Likes Of You, Sonic Textures - and many more - alongside names including D-Nox, Tsuyoshi Suzuki & Vibrasphere to name just a few…
Thad has tried his hand at production, with a certain success. His first track - Midnight Firefight - an acid inspired tech-trance adventure, first aired on the main stage at Earthcore's 10 Year Anniversary. After finally passing on a few copies it made it onto the charts of local DJ Dean Millson & Greece's rising star DJ Kosmas Epsilon who continued to play it at gigs across the globe for some time...

After first hearing this dropped by Sean Quinn at the Earthcore festival last year I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was a local production by none other than his manager! Definitely the highlight of my warm up set for Anthony Pappa in Melbourne recently. Twisted German sounding tech trance. Apparently he was in quite a bad mood when he wrote it and it shows! Nasty, but oh so nice.
