Hello, my name is Claribel, I want to share with you my testimony of how the Lord saved me. Today is December 5th,2006. Exactly five years ago, I was told that I had only 2 weeks to live. Due to an aneurysm in the stem of my brain. Apparently, it was the size of a golf ball. Many victims of aneurysms usually loose their lives, live with disibilities, end up as vegetables, or loose their memories. By that time, my children were all young. Only two weeks before my incident, my husband's mother passed away. My family was in shock because I have always been very healthy and I never been hospitalized (with the exception of giving birth). All my family lived in Puerto Rico so it was harder for them to find out about my condition (especially since I am the baby in my house). The doctors tried to perform some operations to help me but were unsuccessful (by the way, I was totally awake for those so I felt everything). They kept me awake due to the risk of me dying during the operation. They took my records to France to further study my condition because the operation was major and needed assistance. I was sent home for Christmas that year and I thought that was going to be my last Christmas with my family. When the team of doctors returned to the US, they were uncertain of the operation they were going to perform. I was sent home again to wait and see if they could actually pull it off. I was cross-eyed until after my operation, I could not walk on my own, and I felt life-less. One day in church a minister that came to visit gave me a prophecy that the Lord was working with me for a couple of months and that in June I was going to have good news. Well, come June, I was called by a doctor who told me that he was capable of performing the operation and that I had a 90% chance of living a healthy life. He told me that he could operate me the following day, or when he came back from vacation. I allowed him his vacation, which gave more time for my friends, family, and my Pastor and congregation to pray for me. The operation was supposed to be a process of two steps. One on the lower left side of my neck, and the other on the lower right side one week after the other one. However, on August 5th, 2002, the day of my operation, when the doctors opened my skull to perform the first operation, they noticed that the aneurysm had shifted to the left side of my neck where they had already begun to operate making it a one step procedure. My husband and my father were outside waiting and when the doctor went to them he told them he had good news and bad news and asked my husband which one he wanted first. My husband replied " give me the bad news first." and the doctor stated " The bad news is........... YOU ARE STILL UGLY." (LOL)and the good news is that the operation was successful and that I did not need another operation although I lost 1/4th of my hair. :-( I had long hair. Fortunately, it grew back quickly. I was hospitalized for 4 days after my operation and I was sent home without the need of therapy of any kind. I am still the same person I was years before my operation. I am very active now, I am working, and I never felt better. I want to praise the Lord because I know he was the one who kept me alive throughout the 8 months of waiting for answers, and who used the doctors hands to perform my operation. I want to thank my family and friends who visited me and helped me take care of my kids. Especially my very sweet friend named Nancy Rosario who was there for me praying, and her husband Rogelio who helped my husband get through this tough time; Mike and Jill (good friends of the family); My husband's Co-Workers; My cousins Marisela & Mike who visited me almost everyday; My pastor Rev. Felix Torres, Hna. Abreu, Hna. Franceline Cruz; Special thanks to my aunt and uncle Irma & Marco who took care of my kids, my kids are very thankful that you provided a shelter, comfty beds, and a GREAT meal everyday while my husband was in the hospital with me. I want to thank my step-son Jose who was there for me since the very begining and even fed me when I couldn't feed myself. I am very greatful and once again I thank my Lord and Saviour, without him I would not be here. God Bless you all and thank you for taking the time to read my testimony.
