DOUG BROWN - EXECUTIVE PRODUCER / Manager.
Doug Brown has a career in the music business that spans over twenty years. He started by working closely as the confidant and personal assistant to Chris Edley; who was then President of the United Negro College Fund. Doug found out first hand about doing big business and with the college fund promoting such huge music related events as the Parade of Stars, he got the bug for management in the music industry. Being an accomplished musician himself, he soon got involved with Dick Scott, the manager of a group that had little success at that time called New Kids on the Block. Doug was actually their first road manager and he toured with them throughout Florida.
The success of the New Kids speaks for itself. After the tour in Florida, Doug then moved on to a new group that was emerging on the scene called SNAP! This was also the time when he met longtime best friend and business associate Johnny Wright. Working as a management representative for SNAP! and playing in the band as well, Doug helped SNAP! sell an amazing 55 million records worldwide. SNAP! decided they wanted to change management so Doug and Johnny seized the opportunity and their careers in management were born. To this day, Doug still manages the rapper Turbo B from SNAP! Soon after setting up an office in Florida, Doug began working with the Backstreet Boys and doing early commercials with the group. Doug is no stranger in the studio but his real test was to work with a then upcoming group called NSYNC as their day- to-day manager and being a guiding force in leading the group to superstar status. During this time, Doug helped Johnny start the mega management company Wright Entertainment Group.
After helping to guide the careers of such groups as The Baha Men, NSYNC, The Backstreet boys, New Kids on the Block Blaque, Popstars, Eden’s Crush, Boys n Girls, and others, Doug felt he could give personal attention to up and coming groups that needed guidance. As a result, Doug has started a new company, GOE Entertainment. Doug has worked on many film projects, being the E.P. on the soundtrack and hit film “Bring it on†. Other films include 13 dead men, many music videos and commercials.
