About Me
ummmmm... I'm a loser who plays guitar in his room and records it on his computer... i don't really know what else i need to say... : PWell, that's only half the truth...
I totally dig, enjoy, feel and LOVE music. I used to play the piano, but as much as i move around, it's hard to lug around a big-ass upright piano everywhere you go. I miss playing it very much. Now i just have my three guitars, 2 harmonicas and one singing voice.I started playing guitar when i was 13 or 14 years old, something like that. Almost immediately after i got my first Fender, acoustic guitar i started writing music. I learned i was naturally good at strumming and making the sound full, and lively. I still lack many musical skills, but i believe that it's all in my head. I have the music in my head. over the years i've watched myself grow more and more passionate about what i was doing as merely a hobby at first. Creating melodic sounds that sounded unlike anything else was very difficult at first, so i started getting more interested in listening to different acoustic sounds, instead of limiting myself to the band i was in love with at the time (the Red Hot Chili Peppers). I started taking some lessons every couple weeks and soon i started to kind of tune into the whole technique thing and that's all i wanted out of the lessons, so i quit so that i could just teach myself on my own time. I still sit in my room, recording music onto my computer, thinking of worlds beyond and playing chords and melodies that i enjoy.Whether my songs are good, or something that sounds like complete shit doesn't really matter. I have no goals of pursuing a music career. If it's something that happens, then i guess it happens, but i'm not going to donate my testicles to promote myself. I have dreams and ambitions and they do include music. Living a happy life and reaching for the attainable truths of being one with the universe is all i need. Music is a joy, whether i share it or not is a decision that is rightfully mine. There are plenty of people who should be famous just for loving music and committing their every waking moment to it, and others that should be arrested for being fake-ass money junkies and pursuing music just because they can, not because they love it.I see it like this... people have to work for a living, well, the majority of us anyway, you find a place to work and you realize that you're good at it so you keep doing it because it's a good way to make money, especially if it's something you're good at. It shouldn't be that way in the music world. If you're doing it only because you're good at it, you're in it for the wrong reason pal. If you love music and you don't care where it takes you, that's an awesome music lover. Using music JUST to make a dollar is plain fucking retarded and wrong, which is the biggest issue i see in the music industry today. If you love music and it's possible for you to make some extra cash with the possibility of becoming famous and influencing kids around the world and share your love with people... THEN DO IT!! Go for THAT!! It should be nothing more or less.Take pride in what you love, whether it's music, your job, your lover, your art, your food, your family, your imagination, your freedom (or lack there of in this "free" country), whatever it is you love, that love is true, and that true love is beautiful. Take care.Peace and love,--Alex : )
