About Me

Hmm...let's see....what to say, what to say, oh the horror! Well, I was born in Germany while my father, who was in the Air Force, was stationed at Wiesbaden. When I was a year old, we moved back to the US. When I was six, we were in Tampa, FL., when my father was shot down and killed in Vietnam (gotta love our government). My mother had close ties with the Methodist church in Wichita Falls, TX., and we moved there. When I was 9, my mother met and married my stepfather, who was in the German Air Force, and stationed in Wichita Falls. We then moved to northern Germany, where we stayed until 1983. When I graduated from german highschool, my parents came to me and said "We're moving to Arabia, what do you want to do?" Uh, hmm, let's see, don't righlty know what I wanna do. I decided o go to college in the US. So my folks and I split in Germany...I came to the US while they moved to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Nothing like moving away from home for the first time, and having your parents LITERALLY on the other side of the world! At least they couldn't drop in unexpectedly. So, I went to UTA in Arlington, got a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. After a bad break-up with my fiance, I fell into a job with the CCC Freelancers, a joust troupe that was doing Scarborough Faire at the time. Originally I was hired as a groom, but when asked if I knew how to ride, well, the 10 years of dressage in Germany proved I hadn't forgotten how, and I was on the path of becoming a knight in shining armour. Traveled with the Freelancers for about 4 years when I decided it was time to get off the road. After a few odd jobs, I was hired by a small but rapidly growing internet service provider in Dallas called Internet America. I stayed with them for 6 yrs., working my way up to Commercial Sales Director, until my dream job was offered to me. I couldn't say no to Proud Meadows ,THE premier Friesian breeders at the time. I worked for them for almost 3 years before being laid off. By then I had met Michael, my future husband, and found a job as an Equine Vet Tech at Rockwall Equine Center just 4 miles from where we lived (and, yes, I rode my horse to work quite often!). Michael and I got married in Oct. 2004. He had applied with the US government for a postion as a Customs Officer a few years before, and the end of July 2005 was offered and accepted a job on the Canadian border in Montana next to Glacier National Park (check out the webcams on the site!). We've been here since August of '05, and love having GNP as our backyard, literally!
