I was considered a good Southern cook back in my hometown of Albany, so I started a small catering company called The Bag Lady. I would make sandwiches and other meals, then my darling sons would deliver the food. I avoided going out myself because I suffer from agoraphobia, a fear of public places. I believes this fear comes from an incident in which I was held at gunpoint during a bank robbery. I began my relationship with the Food Network in 1999 when my good friend introduced me to George Elliot and that just jump started my telvision show Paula's Home Cooking Catch my show on food network!
