Never to suffer would never to have been blessed. --Edgar Allan Poe

About Me

I am old enough to know better, a mother, wife, daughter, dancer and student of Psychology. I have been studying for my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology for over a year now.
Having said all that....
I hate labels. It is our nature as humans to put everything into neat little boxes. Well, I am one who does not really fit one box. I have strong Catholic beliefs yet I am drawn to Paganism. I consider myself to be part of the gothic sub-culture yet I cannot stand Marylin Manson and I actually think "Queen of the Damned" was a disaster. I am a mother yet you will never see me in a mini-van sporting the latest short hairstyle or on a soccer field or a PTA meeting. If by chance I am at the PTA meeting, I'll be the one with long black hair wearing fishnets and boots. I love to travel. I am originally from San Diego but have lived in the Midwest since I was 13. I have spent time on the East Coast, as well. New England (especially Maine) feels like home to me. I love the ocean (although I don't get to see it very often), rainy days, dancing, and art.
Four years ago I was blessed to meet my gorgeous husband, Mark. He is everything I asked for in a man and I've never been happier. He is my husband, my soulmate, my best friend and team mate (yeah, we're geeks who play World of Warcraft and sometimes City of Heroes). Layout made by

Catwoman! You go, girl! My Dad, who instilled in me a sense of pride in my Irish heritage, told me all the stories of our family history and taught me to appreciate music, art and all things unusual! I also got my blue eyes from him so I'm grateful for that! Also, my Granny (rest her soul). She taught me how to be a lady yet never take yourself too seriously.

Unsettling News

Mark and I bought our home almost 5 years ago.  It's a beautiful old Colonial home in a quiet neighborhood on a cobblestone road. Our mortgage payment is high but we can handle it.   We...

Unreal

I read this morning of what Amy Lee did to the band.   Firing John LeCompt, eh?  Nice move.  This seems to have become a trend with her.    After reading what John w...

That was fun...

I was trying to organize my photos into albums and somehow managed to lose all of them.  So, I've spent the last 20 minutes getting them uploaded again and arranged into albums.  *sigh* As i...

Healing words

I found this some time ago on the SARK board and it really spoke to me. (For those that may not know, SARK is the author of several inspirational books such as, "Succulent Wild Woman", "Make...

Coastal Memories

A dear friend of mine and I were talking today about Victorian houses and Maine.  That conversation reminded me of the last trip I took to New England.  I found some of my journal entries fr...

Embarassing....

Since y'all are my friends I thought I would share this story.  It was embarassing enough the first time around but I knew y'all would get a laugh out of it so I had to post it.  (And y...
