In late 2006, Tommy Bonner returned from Hungary with a self-penned and produced album, 'Some belated truths'. After combing his locality for talented musicians he had the massive fortune to unearth the musical talents that are Jamie McLean(Lead Guitar)Paddy Reynolds(Drums & backing vocals)and Dylan Ramsey(Bass & Backing Vocals).These guys were to give Tommy’s already polished songs a new direction in the live medium,
Following intense, productive and hugely creative rehearsals through the early part of 2007 the newly-formed 4 piece went on a mini-national tour to promote the record. There were a number of stand-out gigs on this tour, most notably in Temple Bar Music Centre(Dublin, April 21) The Balor Theatre (Eargail Arts Festival, July 22) The Music and Surf Festival (Kilkee, Co.Clare Sept 8&9). The end of the year culminated with a gig in The Cavern Club, Liverpool, UK-Home of the Beatles and dubbed ‘the most famous club in the world’.
During this time the band managed to squeeze in their debut national TV appearance (TG4, November 12) and write a considerable number of new songs.
Due to external factors and Commitments,2008 has been relatively quiet for 'The Hermits' but they have a number of performances lined up for the Summer/Autumn and are going into the studio in August to record an EPthe urbanhermits pictures
