Nkechi is a new humanitarian network platform establish in September 2006 to address the increasing demand to fight against the crises faced in Africa.
Nkechi motivation is to challenge the thinking and process of the Western approach to Africa as a whole continent and as individual countries. As well as challenging herself on how she can make an effective impact without being another burden. She has realised over time and has to admit that she is as much of the problem and that it is through changes in her much of the solution must be sought.
She understands having the ability to put the last first is easy but putting the first last is harder. For it means that those who are powerful have to step down, sit, listen, learn from and empower those who are weak and last; this is where the exchange of knowledge and skill will happen on both ends. Where also ‘I’ becomes ‘We’ and ‘Us’ not leaving the everyday issues to those who are inhabit in the environment.
Nkechi has realise that she cannot change human nature and these deep divisions seem to be rooted in the sort of person she is, but Nkechi as an individual can no longer bow down to the inevitable.
Nkechi has been working on behalf and partnering with UK based individuals & organisations interested in the development and rebuilding of Africa . These individual believe that to make poverty history, this cannot be achieved by giving money alone. She is looking into ways in which they can be actively involved and seeing how far their donation can really go in relations to the needs of each communities we encounter in Africa .
Nkechi actively research all the necessary information that is needed to set up projects on behalf of the UK based individuals and organizations.
She looks to finding valve for money solutions through the cost control, project design and project management and prevent misdirected or wasted on inappropriate solutions or unsustainable buildings and related projects
Nkechi strongly encourage community participation, providing an opportunity to share knowledge, teach new skill and empower the local beneficiaries.
“The key is to see problems through the eyes of the community,â€
Nkechi set the stage for human being of one man-made class to be able to engage with another to break the economical and social barriers within global societies and communities.
Nkechi has been working closely with two Community Based Organisations (CBO) in the East of Africa, to build solutions for: boreholes, educational and healthcare facilities.
Once she is made aware of the village via the secondary stakeholders, she first go out to site to assess the satiation before agreeing ..ing the community/ village; this is done to avoid empty promises to the most vulnerable people we meet. Nkechi is now in the process to move the projects forward from 'talk into ACTION'.
