Don Dotta was born Sept 1984 in a Philadelphia naval hospital at 10 pounds 15 ounces. Nick named Bo Diddley by his great great grandmom, Don was always musical. At age 9 he was given an alto saxophone once played by his great great uncle. Don taught himself to play and read music taking time to decode the music into As, Ds, Gs etc.. Don soon lost interest and focused on his drawing abilities experimenting in portraits and pointalism but finding a passion in grafitti. Grafitti was the gateway to Hip Hop, which cultivated an activist with an imagination and rebelious tendencies. Don wrote his first rap at age 10 after hearing a few older kids in a cypher. He went home and rapped it for his mother only to be redirected to rap about what he knew. From that moment on, the young artist vowed to be himself and sound like himself. Damn near 15 years later, the artist is still spitting and still shitting!
Don Dotta started as Goldenchild which evolved into Degree which turned into Tenchi aka TTK (Tenchi the Kid) which evolved into dot com. Soon enough the com was dropped and it became Dot. As with age comes wisdom and the real artist began to emerge by combining the actual self, Don, and the artist, Dot. Out emerges Don Dotta. Still Spitting and Still Shitting!
