Colchester Arts Centre is housed in a beautiful converted church in the centre of Colchester town. It has nearby public parking and excellent public transport links. It is fully accessible to people with disabilities.
We currently promote over 300 separate events each year. The programme contains a diverse and eclectic mix of art forms, including rock and pop music, theatre, poetry, stand up comedy, jazz, folk, live art, children's theatre, world music, contemporary dance and Mexican wrestling (!). We also host various farmers markets, an annual beer festival, artists residencies, platform events and commercial hires. We have a particular expertise in promoting Live Art.
Colchester Arts Centre has a bias towards new work, innovation and experimentation. The culture and spirit of the organisation is one which encourages risk and seeks to find ways in which we can promote and accommodate this work. We are artistically ambitious, remorselessy contemporary and like to mix up the art forms to create a vibrant and diverse programme.
