Helmut Berger

Hi, my name is Helmut. I'm an actor, and I'm originally from Austria.After several years of working in a hotel in my hometown, I decided to go to London and live a life in the fast lane. I auditioned for various theatres, all of which rejected me. That didn't stop me from becoming part of London's glamorous, swinging sixties jet set. Being young and cute, I slept with many famous people, I even had threesomes with Mick and Bianca Jagger. The highlight of my successive career as a film actor was La Caduta Degli Dei (aka The Damned), directed in 1969 by Italian director Luchino Visconti. Luchino was into Marxist politics, so most of the time I didn't have the slightest clue what he was on about. Nevertheless, he became the love of my life and offered me parts in other movies, such as 1972's 'Ludwig', in which I played Ludwig II, a famous Bavarian king supposedly. I also got the lead role in Massimo Dallamano's 1972 movie Dorian Gray. It was an adaptation of Oscar Wilde's classic novel, but for some reason critics called it "sleazy vulgar trash", and in London they showed the film in porn cinemas.What else? Well, generally speaking I must say I'm probably not the cleverest cookie in the jar, and some people say I'm superficial. But hey, I make up for that by being really stylish and cute, and even in the 90s I was cool enough to accept a part in a movie called The 120 Days of Bottrop. And despite my vanity, at least I never aspired to a singing career. So shut up, already!
