Sophia Anastasia is one of the most accomplished emerging professional flutists in the New York metropolitan area. Her New York debut at Carnegie Hall in 1999, and the release of her debut album "Musing" launched her into the forefront of the concert flutist world. She has won a number of national and local flute competitions, performs with numerous ensembles and orchestras in the United States, and is recognized as one of the most respected instructors in the New York and New Jersey areas.Her recently completed doctoral degree places her in high demand as a guest artist and teacher to local universities and public schools. She maintains a private teaching studio where she coaches dedicated young flutists and directs a flute ensemble. She performs regularly as soloist and orchestral flutist for the Haddonfield Symphony, the Orchestra of the Bronx, the Harmonia Opera Company, and the Montclair Chamber Ensemble, among others.
