DJ Aries

DJ Aries was born on April 19th, 1979 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Growing up, traveling, and living from state to state such as North Dakota, South Dakota, Minniesota, Nebraska, California, and now currently staying out in Phoenix, Arizona. He's been DJing for about 11 years now and loving every bit of it. Before he ever became a DJ, he grew up listening to all different types of music. He said that he could remember back in the day, when he was really young, taking his parents old 45's and 12" records and playing them on their old school phono player that they had. Acting like a little DJ at the time, watching MTV and Yo MTV Raps. He wanted a set of turntables so bad so he could do like just like what all those other DJs were doing at the time. Young at heart and with a lot of inspiration for music, it just wasn't the case, that just was it. There were other musical instruments that had caught his interest. For instints at the age of 10 and in the fourth grade, he use to play the violin all the way up until the fifth grade, sixth grade he played the drums, seventh grade played the guitar, eighth grade sang in the choirs class, and then after Junior High School he really never got back into music until his Senior year in high school at the age of 18.That's when he first realized after going to his first party(EDEN '97 in Tucson, AZ), he knew he needed to get back into doing what he loved and enjoyed doing the most. Playing music. From remembering back in the days messing around with his parents records and record player to watching Yo MTV Raps on the television. It was soon after that from going to different parties and events, seeing a lot of different types of DJs play, listening to all different types of music from all over the world, and watching all these kids eat it up by dancing their asses off. That's when he than knew it was time to start.By the end of '97 the first thing he knew he needed to get was a set of turntables, a good mixer for scratching, figure out what kind of music to start spinning with, and start rocking the shit out of the Techniques like no other. Now that's when it started. Drum-n-Bass and Hip-Hop was his insperation. The fact that he knew that you could use Hip-Hop elements and incorperate it with Drum-n-Bass was amazing a lot of inspiration to him. He knew then that this was going to be his passion, his love, and his devotion for music.Spending all his time and hard earn money on his records, turntables, mixers, and headphones. It was now time for him to start playing out and getting his name known. He then started off by playing at his friends house parties every week just so he could start making a good reputation for himself and for his name. After do so, he then started to get more bookings for more house parties, desert events, and warehouse parties. Building up a good reputation for himself, he then started linking up with different DJs, crews, and promoter. Some being good ones and some being not so good ones. He finally realized and decided to start his own crew. Knowning that he new a few good DJs with some sick talent and that were down to do that, he than form Evil Souljas which is based out of Glendale, Arizona.After making Evil Souljas a name out in Arizona, he than decided to branch out and link up with other DJs that were doing the same thing. Some long time old friends from the scene. Now with that being said Dark Stepahz Platoon was born and started to evolve. Consisting of only Drum-n-Bass and Hip-Hop DJs, this crew start taking parties on by the storm. Being booked every weekend for parties and opening up for acts such as Uber Zone, Ron D Core, Simply Jeff, L3GO aka Electrolab, Technical Itch, and much more. There was no stopping the Dark Stepahz Platoon DJs. Finally it happen, CEO/Founder/President (Chris "Will Not Be Forgotten" Harvey) of Dark Stapahz Platoon passed away in his sleep. After the death of a close friend it seemed like the Dark Stepahz Platoon DJs started to drift apart and doing other things. Few years later, doing their own things, Dark Stepahz Platoon is still surviving and still staying strong.Now with having the affiliation of Evil Souljas and Dark Stepahz Platoon under his belt. DJ Aries kept doing his thing and kept on opening up for other big acts. With this being said, DJ Aries was introduce to Jim and DJ Kilsek(CEO/Founders/Presidents) of Flock Production. These guy's knew that DJ Aries had been doing big thing for some years now and knew that he would be a good investment to their production crew, so they decided to adopt him and make him apart of Flock Productions.Four years strong and still rocking the Drum-n-Bass with Flock Production. DJ Aries keep on rocking the crowds like no other. He also opened up for acts/DJs such as Operator, DJ Jay Von and MC XYZ, DJ Whizard, Done One of The Society Of Invisible, The Society Of Invisibles, MR B.A.B.L.E. aka DJ Alias, Gein, Ewun and Syze, APX-1, CRS?, DJ Tarzan, Twilight, Photek at E.D.C. in California, The Spys(The One Spy and Nation Spy), Kris The Fist, Dustin Bass and MC Mindstate, Joshi Teko(R.I.P.), Ariel, DJ Enzyme, Blesd One and OHM, and much much more. This DJ is sure to give you a good showcase, either on the 1s & 2s, or doing 2x4 sets with his buddy MR B.A.B.L.E. aka DJ Alias. This Dj will show you what Drum-n-Bass/Hip-Hop is all about. From cutting it up, scratching, tricks, teasers, rinse outs, juggling, to mixing it up with Drum-n-Bass and Hip-Hop. Now apart of his new family M.I.A. DJs in Chicago-USA. DJ Aries is one not to miss.
