About Me

A Hip Intro?
The formal stuff follows, but how do I expressed this? I'm just a young man who believes that the Lord Jesus has put troubling in my soul, piercing thoughts in my mind, and a revelation in my Spirit that leads me to venture to be cruciformed.
By that I simply mean: canonically communicating , charismatically serving, critically thinking, communion receiving and community participating.
Anybody who prays in the Spirit, but prays with their mind, is my kind of person. Anyone who believes God created us, but hasn't stopped taking medications is my kind of person. Anybody who loves the learnin', but has gotta have the burnin' is my kind of person. Anybody that belives real holiness is not simply personal, but most importantly social, is my kind of person.
Anybody who is sufficiently cosmopolitan to chat and chew about Jesus in the public square of postmodernism, feminist theory, deconstruction, reconstruction, pluralism and relativism, and still hold their convictions is my kind of person. Anybody that thinks its still holy to sing Gospel before fighting oppression is my kinda person. This is just an attempt for me to broaden my horizons and conceptions of ministry (and friendship :-) and be challenged by all the great folks whose pages I have already perused on myspace. So holla at me!
The Formal BIO: Marlon Millner is a third-generation preacher, raised in the Apostolic and Church of God in Christ denominations. He believed on Jesus and was baptized as a child. He believes in a further work of grace understood as Spirit Baptism and received this in college.
He is ordained in the Apostle Church of Christ in God, an Apostolic group his grandfather established, and he is licensed in the American Baptist Churches USA. He earned a BA from Morehouse College and an M.Div from Harvard University. Millner has worked with leaders in COGIC and ABCUSA and is active in itinerant ministry . He has served in Apostolic, COGIC and Baptist churches, and presently works for International Ministries of the ABCUSA in communications.
Marlon serves as an associate minister at Church of the Redeemer in South Philadelphia, under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Wayne E. Croft, Sr, D.Min. He also has a vibrant itinerant ministry via www.azusa-imani.org (where you can hear, see and download sermons!!!) ..

Democratic Nominee and the next US President, Senator Barack Obama preaches a powerful Father's Day sermon at Apostolic Church of God -- the largest church in Chicago, IL

Delman Coates, Ph.D, pastor in metro Washington, DC, and convener of the Enough-is-ENOUGH campaign to combat the negative portrayal of people of color in entertainment and media in the U.S. and around the globe! Classic COGIC preaching. I'm sorry, the late Chief Apostle G.E. Patterson can flat out preach

Classic Apostolic Pentecostal preaching from the late Bishop R.W. McMurray. Noel Jones got his church with THOUSANDS already in it -- and don't you forget it!

My Gawd! Huey Rogers could go back in the day. Bibleway preaching at it best.

OLD-school preaching. I believe this is the Church of God True Holiness (an Apostolic group) from the DEEP South. This preacher starts on TEN!

Ok True Holiness must teach folks to dance in the Holy Ghost from the womb! Training video for anyone who hasn't done this before ... pay attention! :-D

Twinkie PREACHING about the one great theological theme of her music -- THE ANOINTING. Fantastic

Ok, I sang on this choir -- the Gospel choir for the Atlanta University Center for only a part of my first semester at Morehouse -- then I backslid! (LOL) With all this, no wonder, I couldn't sing like this!
