Ever since I can remember, I always wanted to sing and be "in the TV" (as said when I was about four). Now, I'm 17. Growing up in Cincinnati, I always loved music. I sang where ever I went. Six years old was when music really came into my life.
I grew up listening to all kinds of different genres. I remember driving to Tennessee with my parents for vacation and asking if we were there yet; (like every kid does when they're on a long trip). I also remember listening to lots of older rock...Bush, 3 Doors Down, Pink Floyd. Then there was the side of me that enjoyed 'Pop' and 'Hip-Hop' music. If it caught my attention with a catchy beat, unique lyrics or both, I couldn't get it out of my head.
I started to develop an absolute obsession with music. I would keep singing and singing until I knew every single word, syllable, and pronunciation. From then on, I was never without it. I started playing guitar when I was about 15.
I've been playing the piano for about 3 years. I enjoy both, but I always find myself picking up my guitar and taking it everywhere and writing songs or figuring out a song I like, by ear. As well as being a musician, I write. I've studied and been in writing for 6 years. I love writing what I feel, and what's happening in my life, or things I've experienced.
Everything I write comes from inside of me, and truly means something to me. I've sung in a choir at Performing Arts for 3 years. I love sharing my music with people and seeing their reactions...a smile...a foot tapping...a head bobbin'. It makes me feel like a million dollars. If I can make even one person smile with my music, I know I have accomplished a great deal already.
