MUSIC UNITES....The African Brothers Collective

About Me

African Brothers Collective New York was born in 2003. Under the leadership of Mawuena Kodjovi, Guitar player and multi instrumentalist from Togo (West Africa, East of Ghana), and Bassit Thierno Camara from Senegal. A.B.C. NY is more than a band. It's becoming a brotherhood of musicians. From the very beginning, the vocation of The A.B.C. was to present African music in its diversity, originality, freedom, tradition and evolution aspects. Each show given by the A.B.C. is like a journey into the vast musical world. The band has performed in major music festivals such as Celebrate Brooklyn, music temples such as S.O.B.'s NY, and in various cultural venues such as Brooklyn Museum of African Arts. The music of The A.B.C. has a powerful message of unity and tolerance for the world."Learning how to share what we have and who we are as human beings, is the only way out of the darkness and fear we have been plonged into for too long now..."Mawuena Kodjovi
