The Watt

About Me

A pair of newcomers for whom to keep your eyes open and ears perked, the Watt are a spectacular new duo out of Sweden, comprised of artists Johan Wictorsson and Jonas Persson. As members of the Susa Superstars - a collaboration formed with the American duo Granite and Phunk - their track “Make Me Feel” (Funktion Recordings) was given support and recognition by established artists such as Stonebridge, Robbie Rivera, and Openair. Now working on their own individual vision, Johan and Jonas – The Watt – are ready to prove that they possess that magic ability to turn an already great track into something truly amazing.
Jonas and Johan became involved in music at fairly early ages. Johan started producing at the age of fourteen, and his teammate, Jonas, began working with him at age sixteen. Together now for just over a year, both are self-taught when it comes to music production and mixing.
Previous and present inspirations for The Watt include: Daft Punk, Phats & Smalls, Bini & Martini, Full Intention, Sam La More, and Axwell to name just a few. In interview, Jonas has said his love of house music came from the track “Turn Around” by Phats and Smalls. As for Johan, he’s experimented a bit, even creating a few hiphop beats for friends. When you listen to them – and if you love house, you will – you will recognize an eclectic range of styles in their tunes. From the catchy rhythms of circa 2001 disco house to the funky basslines of electro house, you will absorb and experience an amalgam of sounds that marks The Watt as an exciting and unique entry into the musical arena.
