About Me
M80 is FUEL TV’s first TV show dedicated exclusively to the craziest sport on earth: freestyle motocross. Wherever insanity on motorcycles is going down, M80 is rolling cameras to capture all the glory, carnage, and parties from around the world. The show format was created by motocross filmmaker, Adam Barker (Fox Racing, X-Games, No Fear) to pack every episode full of a variety of motocross, while focusing on one “featured riderâ€. Three of each show’s six segments will surround the life and riding of the featured rider, while the other three will spotlight a wide variety of freestyle motocross topics, events, tricks, and new faces. Each episode of M80 opens with a “skit†performed by the episode’s featured pro, reflecting an aspect of their motocross persona. Since a majority of the freestyle pros have taken on a WWF style image, there are many different characters, themes and styles to choose from. The skits will always be rooted in a theme representing the featured rider but beyond that will be shot in a wide variety of styles. The skit ends with a twist, punchline, or reveal line, “I’m (name), and you’re watching M80!†Boom, opening montage. At the close of the opening montage a teaser of sections to come will indicate to the viewer, where the episode will be going and who the episode’s guest host will be. The host, “token hottieâ€, is a tongue in cheek stab at all the “extreme sports†shows which feature a hot girl each week; she knows nothing about the sport and doesn’t claim to. Throughout the episode the token hottie will introduce the sections and add additional commentary. The episode’s featured pro will have three riding sections sprinkled throughout the episode: an introduction and background section, usually a road trip section, and a last section spotlighting a certain point of view of the pro, or unique characteristics that sets him apart from the crowd. All sections will be packed with lots of free ride tricks and play riding. The remaining three segments will differ episode to episode, but usually fall into one of the following categories: “Blowing Up,†a section where you meet an up and coming pro; “On Tour†steps you front row to a big tour or overseas contest with a host of pros; “Dialin’ It In†let’s you watch a top pro learn a trick from scratch or relearn a trick that has sent them to the hospital. The style and look of each of the segments will vary to reflect the unruly and vastly different personalities and attitudes of the industry itself. In a sense, the style of M80 is not having a style. Just as the name hints, lots of stuff gets blown up!
