since it's tough to find anyone who thinks highly enough of me to write a bio i'll just swallow my pride and do it myself. i'll even keep it in the first person so no one has to hear me drone on and on in the third person (i.e. glen wadie writes the kind of songs that make you heartsick w/ loneliness and an eerie sense of
hope)
i've always hoped for a day when i can fill this space w/ worthwhile and exciting quotes from critics and other musicians. i don't have many of those yet. i do however have the illustrious words of my grand father,
"are you still in that stupid band? you should sing more in your own voice instead of trying to sound like Johnny Cash or that guy, what's his name? Bon Jovi"
or in the words of my former employer:
"that show was really great. just don't quit your day job"
so for now we can settle for those things. the band my grandfather refers to is cold colours a gothic/melodic/hard rockin'/ type metal band from minneapolis. i played drums for them for five years. occasionally (read: when we weren't too busy w/ gigs and recordings) i got the urge to do a solo show. sometimes i even managed to get one.
the first music i remember hearing was Johnny Cash. when i was about 3 years old my grandmother would play it and it always stuck with me. throughout my life i've been interested in and influenced by anything and everything from bob dylan and steve earle to slayer and morbid angel. don't know how it happened.
i've been doing this on and off since i was eighteen and i've written a lot of songs. feel free to check them out and let me know what you think. hopefully there will be new and exciting recordings in the not so distant future. for now just dig on this little video
