Welcome to my website, I am Jeanne G, creator of Backstage Pix. I am fledging photojouranlist and writer with a BS in Graphic Design from Portland State University in Oregon.
Looking for a way out of the world of cubicles after years of working in advertsing and printing, I have found satisfaction working for Apple, Inc., designing computer systems for the public in their rapidly growing retail chain. Recently I moved into their personal training division which is even more fun, as I teach every day folks how to be creative using Apple's amazing software.
I am inspired by the photography of Annie Leibowitz, the late Linda McCartney and Jim Marshall. My ambition is to create compelling images that convey emotion and passion. My dream is to be shooter for Rolling Stone Magazine.
What started out as taking a few snaps of my dear friends Blue Oyster Cult and the Clever Bastards, has become my passion, concert photography. A special thanks goes to Buck Dharma, Allen Lanier, Eric Bloom, Steve 'Woody' LaCerra and Roger Fisher, for being so gracious with access to their many shows over the years allowing me to practice the craft of photojournalism. I am grateful to be able to contribute back to the music industry with these images, something I have always loved since I was a teenager working in record stores.
