Computer generated backgrounds, religious figures, images of cartoon characters, Japanese animation, Mexican loteria, Venezuelan logos are the inspiration for my work.I deconstruct graphics, I create fairy tales, that are part of our childhood and adult culture. My work addresses politically incorrect images. Often times these themes feature humor. In most of my work I combine nostalgic images of the past with contemporary graphics, always pushing the edge and taking advantage of the new tools available to artists.
The color establishes a dream-like surreal quality, suggests notions of radical imagery that unifies the disparate objects. The characters provide clues to the content and interpretation.The technique used is photography, hand drawings, collage and computer manipulation. All the pieces are made with a combination of graphics created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, then printed in high resolution premium grade
paper or canvas.
