I've always been searching for adventure - new ways of looking at life. Over the years I've been a best-selling science fiction author (The Seed, Creation Books)
Also an experimental artist and Graphic Designer. I've studied and played with language and multimedia communications. I've spent many years drumming and playing didgeridoo and can never get over just how miraculous music and sound really is. And every time I play it opens up new pathways and shows me yet another facet of being alive.
The amazing thing about this reality is that we dream it into being. But the even stranger thing being that in fact there is no one actually doing the dreaming - there is just life or being unfolding.
The patterns of life can be anything and the more I delve into the mystery the more beautiful and miraculous it becomes. I once had it said to me that when we become intensely interested in life, life becomes intensely interested in us.
During my time as an experimental Graphic designer I had the amazing good fortune to work for many years with David Bowie and his product development company, creating a huge rangeof artistic and commercially led material. I produced award-winning print (Outside, Earthling and Bowieart) – and conceptualised multi-faceted characters, interactive environments and interfaces alongside experimental methods of storytelling. These projects combined have probably reached an audience of hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Very satisfying when you go into a pirate music shop in Thailand and see your work plasterd all over the walls - shit - you know you've landed. But on the other end of the scale. I can remember giving a talk at the D&AD (Design and Art Directors Awards) and being described as a 'creative guru' - then that same day stopping off at Cost cutter for a few cans of beer - and seeing my artwork staring up from the £2.99 basket. A massive "fuck-off" REDUCED sticker obscuring my so-called guru typography. Fuck, that's what I love about life.
I know it all sounds great, but in many ways producing that work now seems more like a dream - the life of an unknown person?
Bowie sang that time changes us but we can't change time - well I now understand that in the dream of life we can change time - we do it naturally - our soul or what appears to be a core to our being starts to feel uncomfortable in a form (be it a look or a shape) - somewhere there seems to be a memory of freedom from any type of form. We move through life changing time and form just to feel, to understand, changing form. And every change can liberate us from the old form - so we have constant change physically and mentally. But eventually a space may arise in which we keep coming back to that memory of no form and it's seen by no one that all this world is just consciousness - we are just consciousness observing this thing called time and change.
My acrylic paintings and prints have been included in shows at the Museum of Modern Art (New York), The Tate Modern (London) and the Pompidou Centre in Paris. However, in my opinion, most of the people populating art gallereies are up their own asses.
There are so many talented people on skid row and so much trash hanging in galleries. My wife had the right idea. She paints her art on cars - moving art - and it probably gets seen by more people than anything stuck on a gallery wall. We joke that images of her cars are sitting on a million mobile phones. Her art car was once parked next to a brand new Lamborghini - and when she came back there was a huge crowd taking pictures. She automatically assumed they were snapping the 'flash mowta'. But as she got close, she saw they were snapping her art car and completely ignoring the Lamborghini....Rock on babe!!!!!
UNPLUG FROM THE MONEY MATRIX
More recently I've produced courses and audio material outlining radically new ways of working with money and time. This has really emerged out of my own journey around both issues. Blundering my way through so many years of stress and near bankruptcy brought me to my knees. And it was at my lowest point that I started to wake up. I found some inspirational approaches - and began the process of un-programming the lies and unplugging from the Money Matrix - the limiting belief systems I'd always suspected were false, but somehow never understood how to break the spell.
I've now found truly creative ways to create wealth using these concepts and practices. Yes the same person who thought money was an alien language. I absolutely know that we are nearly all misled and taught about money - an indeed life - by people who don't understand how to live abundantly. We are taught at such a tender age how to follow rules that keep us afraid and stuck in a world of threat and never-ending competition.
In the course of my studies, and many years of first hand experience, I've discovered that practically everything we are told about creating wealth is wrong. And I've made it my business to uncover methods and practices that have the power to cut through the fearful and stressful methods we've been taught are fixed. Perhaps my catchphrase should be "The world is much more flexible than we ever thought".
As long as we blindly follow the rules laid down by systems that have a vested interest in us staying afraid, poor and stuck, our true vibrancy and capacity to create can never be fully expressed. And that goes for most things that we are told are fixed.
But what I've found is that once we have the capacity to see through the illusions and are instructed by creative guides and teachers on how to open up new ways of thinking and working, the world suddenly becomes a place of unlimited possibility instead of unlimited struggle and threat. This doesn't mean there is no struggle or threat, but we no longer mistake it for something that it's not. And we no longer overwrite everything we see with a layer of fear and win loose mentality.
