Forever Yours
BIO:
I began learning Piano at 9 years old after initally wanting to learn the drums.The piano soon led to learning the guitar. I was hooked on Chuck Berry, my brothers AC/DC tapes and Mum and Dads Dire Straits. Once at College Me and couple mates started a High School band.
After completing a degree in teaching and a Bachelor of Arts at Victoria University in Wellington, I started teaching fulltime at Katikati Primary School. I soon began playing at the Tauranga and Katikati Folk Club to air and perform my original songs. This lead to acoustic duo work around Katikati and Tauranga. Soon I found myself forming an original band in Thames with musical friends who shared my passion.
It was with this band, Innervoice, that I began playing in bars incorporating originals with covers to make money to record and also get laid. Soon we made two demo tracks, with Dan Howard, sound engineer from Hamilton. Hemi Hill, Programme Director of Classic Hits, was impressed with 'Forever Yours', one of the demo singles, and was keen to give it air time as soon as it was produced to radio quality.Having also sent demos to Brad King Programme Director at The RockFM we also had interest and some air play with this demo.
Now we set about recording with Andrew Buckton producer at Studio 203 Auckland. "Forever Yours" also landed Innervoice a live performance spot on the then "Mary Lambie Show" having also placed third in The Java Jive Bar singer songwriter contest Auckland I was feeling really enthusiastic and confident to move forward wih my originals.
Once we recorded an albums worth of music with Andrew, we took our tongue and cheek single "Sexybitch" in person to Brad King accompanied by a stripper to help promote and make the song a visual and memorable experience. With some red faces and a few laughs, we achieved some regular air play with this single. Brad had also shown interest in my song 'Everything We're Fighting For' which was one of the original demo songs.
We also supported GoodShirt at a charity concert for flood relief in Thames.When Innervoice went seperate ways I remained close to my craft and passion by playing in a few different covers bands.
Now I am playing in a top covers band 'The Sesames' from Tauranga .I am enjoying the stability this has brought and moving to the city has been welcome change. It is my dream to be rocking my original music internationally and successfully.
