Christine Vaindirlis born in London, mainly grew up in South Africa and then moved to Italy to pursue her life dream in. She commenced her studies at the “Conservatorio di Milano G.Verdi†in Italy where after she was awarded a scholarship by the Region of Lombardy to study opera under the supervision of professionals from the famous “Teatro della Scala di Milanoâ€. She then was endowed “The Berklee College of Music Achievement Scholarship†by the prestigious institution in Boston in 2001, followed by the Solo and Ensemble Award for Outstanding Musicianship in 2003. She completed her education with a dual B.M. Cum Laude, in Contemporary Writing & Production and Performance as a Voice principal.
Christine has been involved in the many facets of the music industry in live and studio settings as a lead and background vocalist over diverse stylistic approaches from Funk, Pop, R&B, Jazz/Fusion to Folk and World Music. She has written and overseen recordings, for jingles, bands, string sections and studio orchestras and has had the privilege of working with a vast array of vocalists and musicians, among which world renowned artists such as Hiromi, Layla Hathaway, Leni Stern, Bakithi Kumalo, Esperanza Spalding, Marlon Saunders, Daniel Sadownick, Bill Cosby, Gilad Ronen, Andre Juarez and Egui Castrillo just to name a few. Her greatest success however, was the founding and production of the band “SHIKISHA!â€, a performance promoting the traditional Music of South Africa, with a dynamic and entertaining twenty-three piece band.
Christine currently working on her debut album "Dance Mama!" to be released early 2009, a fusion of South African, Jazz and Funk!
