Jeff Majors, a native of Washington, D.C., first heard his calling to the harp in a dream he had at age 15, where he saw and heard himself playing the instrument to “chase away demons.†Jeff took his to vision to a friend and owner of a D.C. music store who, much to the youngster’s surprise, actually handcrafted a small harp for him. With his harp in hand and a vision in his heart, Jeff Majors’ musical sojourn had begun. His studies with Coltrane in his early 20s led Jeff Majors to form several jazz bands.
In Washington, D.C. he became a popular part of the city’s flourishing entertainment scene. Jeff Majors’ love of music lead him to a job as an on-air personality with a popular D.C. radio station, giving him an outlet for his singular business skills as well as hands-on feel for the pulse of nationwide tastes and trends in popular music.
