The Mór Rigan’s Wake was founded in February of 2006 by Corinne Reif and Sara Houseman, long time friends and vocal music enthusiasts. Originally specializing in Irish/Scottish and English trad a cappela vocal pieces, the Mór Rigan’s Wake soon branched into performing fusions of Eastern European folk songs after taking several workshops with the renown women’s vocal ensemble, Kitka ( http://www.kitka.org/), in the later half of 2006.
The Mór Rigan’s Wake can most often be found singing with the Bay Area’s Rockinist Irish band, The Culann’s Hounds (http://sfhounds.com/ ), or wandering the streets of San Rafael, Petaluma and San Francisco in a drunken singing frenzy.
