About Me

Gus documents Gus Torregrossa, a beloved, Mafia-esque figure in the world of hip-hop and the Italian community in St. Louis. While the film was being shot, Gus and his shoe and clothing store were facing the prospect of being pushed from the garment district due to the re-development of the area into upscale lofts, restaurants, and shops. For the past 20+ years, Gus' store has been a stopping point for rappers from Flava-Flav, Easy E, Kid-n-Play, Tupac Shakur on up recently through Nelly. Gus runs his store with the always interesting Jimmy, affectionately known as "Jimmy the Midget," whom Gus took under his wing more than 20 years ago...Gus.. (2003), won the award for Best Biography in the 2004 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival and went on to play in Los Angeles as part of the same festival. It was an official selection in the Saint Louis International Film Festival and was invited to screen at the 2004 Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival.Get your layout at zSIFT.com" img src="http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h84/rosychan/untitled 3.jpg "Jimmy "The Midget"
