About Me
Greetings! I'm Bo Mitchell, but my real first name is Matthew, Bo is just a long-time nickname. I am completely addicted to music and usually go into withdrawl if I don't buy a cd within two weeks. I play guitar, harmonica, a little bit of keyboard, and sing. I've been writing songs for about seven years and I recently left the group, The Bailey Downs Band due to surfacing artistic differences. As co-founder and lead songwriter/singer of the group, I was an integral part of the two original albums, "Bark Soil Rust" (2007) and "The Bailey Downs Band" (2008). You can check out my own original material under Bo Mitchell here on myspace, as well as some of my cuts with The Bailey Downs Band. And if you want to, you can check out my first high school garage rock band, Mudd as well. And for further entertainment, you can look into my insane side with the comedy project, David & The Gnome .
Here's a brief synopsis of my past:
1. Got hit in the face with an aluminum baseball bat at age 7 by my sister
2. Made it through elementary school without getting caught doing any of the evil things I used to do
3. Was in a high school rock band named "Mudd" and started a riot at an after-game dance
4. Wrote and filmed with my friends the now cult classic "Paperplate Face" horror-comedy
5. Went to Edinboro University of PA for two semesters after graduation where my roommate and I wrote many songs and strange movies
6. Ran out of money so I joined the Army for the college fund (4 year contract)
7. After training, got stationed in Germany (for 3 years) and absolutely loved it
8. While in Germany, traveled extensively around Europe including: Paris, London, Rome, French Riviera, Prague, Venice, Verona, & Corfu (Greece)
9. Survived the Army and moved to San Francisco for a year while trying to attend film school
10. San Fran proved to be way too expensive, so I just got a job at Tower Records, went to a lot of concerts and traveled
11. While in San Fran, traveled to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Monterey, Santa Cruz, Carmel, Napa Valley, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Death Valley, Winchester Mystery House, & Yosemite
12. Left California and came back to Mercer so I could actually afford going to school and graduated from Slippery Rock University of PA in May 2008
13. Met my beautiful wife, Caitlin, while attending school and were married on December 27, 2008
14. Moved down to Northern Virginia (outside of Washington D.C.) for jobs
15. Couldn't stand renting any longer so we bought a house in Charles Town, West Virginia; which reminds us a lot of Western Pennsylvania
