Sounds Like: FOR FULL REVIEWS, SEE BLOG:They're bloody good! That was the heaviest slide-guitar riffage and cymbal mash-up I've heard in yonks. VenueThis would sit quite happily on the MTV2 playlist PowPowPowAs The Counterfeits beam their flawless grunge-garage pop over to the Pulp audience it becomes apparent how much potential these guys have to being on their way to an NME front cover. Loads more jumping and falling to the knees means the rock 'n' roll attitude is coming along nicely! Moles.co.uk ReviewFrom the minute The Counterfeits begin, Phil's fantastic voice is immediately noticeable. Then the drum beat kicks in and feet start a-tapping. Their effortless blues and folk-influenced rock hark back to legends such as Led Zep, refreshing in an era when so many new bands are trying desperately to sound like Arctic Monkeys. 'Hideaway' rings of Nirvana's 'You Know You're Right', 'Travelling Wide' has a distinctly QOTSA feel, and all the songs have an insanely catchy beat. As the set ends it's clear that this band is something very special indeed. EpigramThe counterfeits are a feisty power trio that sound like The Jam elbowing for room with Nirvana. Heaviness, coupled with melody and bursts of energy, bring The Who to mind. They are a young band with excellent dynamics that give a nod to musical history while looking to the future. Portsmouth Evening NewsThis incredibly raw, live sounding EP from The Counterfeits delves into the archives of classic blues and grunge. Stand out track 'Jack O' Diamonds' hears the best vocal performance, boxy production - garage sensibilities, this is where they rock! Decode Magazine EP Review. Pick of the Fortnight. The Counterfeits never cease to impress and enthral with their own conception of Blues- and Folk-influenced Rock. These five tracks capture the essence of the bands strength and proficiency while never betraying the sincere, unspoiled and natural sound that makes them so charming. Keeping their fans in a constant state of anticipation, this band never fails to surprise and somehow always exceeds your expectations. Spill Magazine EP Review
