Influences: My first influence, I must say, would be my Mother, between her and my uncle, they, or should I say "WE" had all the Jamz! My mom took me to a club i was only 7, and she won a dance contest sitting in her chair, at the table. (ma-dukes still got those skillz). Now on the other hand, my Sister new the latest dances, like The Freak, The Bump, The Rock, The Earl flynn, The Prep, The Roll, Bounce, Rock, Skate thing. The Pop, The Tilt, The Pee Wee Herman, The Funkateer, The Smurf, The Jit etc... What ever was out she had me doing it! She'ld always say to this day" betchu can't do this! She also new the latest dances and trends. So in Jr. high, as you know i had a record player. Well i met this dude from St. Louis. his name was Fred Davis, we called him Bubba witch later became Dj Bubbs, Bubbs was bad. He was the man who introduced me to the mixer and the second turntable as well as the transformer switch. That was in end of 1980 so 1981 we was off and mixing. By the time high school rolled around, i met these dudes from the South Bronx. Dow-ould Brown and his 1st cousin Kieth Brown, aka Sunny Boo or just Boo. Boo was the Rapper and King of the N.Y. Mixt Tapes. he had a big boom box, which I still have you can c-it in my pics. Boo taught me how to rap, I was a Beast. So not only could I spin I could spit. The girls would go bananas to hear that s!@T!. Remember, The Bronx have just giving birth to rap. So the videos are now being played, and in those vids, were Djs, Mcs and now they added Break Dancing. A dance my Sister did not even know about. In high school (Huron 84-86) I met a bunch of muggs who love this style of dance. which became the birth of the B-Boys. John & David Noon, these brothers were bad man. They taught me how to centipede, backspin, the headspin, the windmill (burger king windmilling with hands on your nuts). I taught myself how to spin on my elbow with my feet to the sky, they was jockin". Oh I didn't mention Spidey "D" and Dj Jammin' Jay? The Beat Boxers they would battle while we would breakdance. till this day they battle they are 40 yrs old. (hip hop keeps the kid in you). we still waiting scince high school for the tie breaker. crazy it was a tie that never got broken.(We're still waiting fellas) I remember buying all the hip hop and electro, it was coming out so fast. I remember I had everthing in one cr-8, all hip hop. Now I can't fit it in a basement. I guess you can say and this is a quote, From the Grandwizard Theodore & Kevi Rockwell, "Dj Scotty "d" is a Grandmaster". Thanks fellas for more than just that!
