From the tips of calloused fingers and the wisdom of a weathered soul come the songs of Romulus Remus, a recently formed band from Shreveport. Romulus Remus began as the brainchild of Nathan Woods, a seasoned musician who has been paving a way for his musical vision since he was a teenager playing blues clubs. Nathan moved to Nashville to seriously pursue his music career, playing in several different projects there, all the while writing his own songs that fit the sound he desired. When he moved back to Shreveport, he teamed up with Darren Osborn to record these songs in Darren's studio, the Sandbox. The sound was vintage yet refreshing, soul-baring at times, yet always engaging with its inescapable rhythms. Darren soon volunteered to play drums, and Nathan recruited the guitarist Kern Courtney, whom Nathan remembered as a musician in local bands that he liked. Guitarist and engineer Steve Sullivan is a recent addition to the band. The music has fallen together naturally, with Nathan's vocals and basslines leading the group. Nathan finds the best of his rootsy influences and combines them with a determination for "new sights, new sounds." Romulus Remus offers songs of experience, with a twist and catchiness that draws the attention of a wide range of listeners.
