I am a single mom from N.C. I am an aspiring novelist, Part time freelance writer, but foremost, and have been writing poetry and songs most of my life. I book bands on a part-time basis. I love photography and take my camera with me every place I go. I have learned... there is "always" someone, or something interesting to capture when I go out. It also helps me in my writing.
I am a happy and spiritual person who is very consistent in mood. I have a Native American mentor/friend to thank for who I am today. Through his teachings since I was fifteen years old, I found my inner peace and I won't let anyone or anything take that from me.
My friends tell me I have unique spiritual gifts, (I don't know about that) and that I am genuine, and creative. I reply, "I am just me." Through the Native American teachings for the better part of my life, I have a genuine connection to the holy spirt. I try and walk by that spirit daily, and hope that what others witness in me will serve as an inspiration, or example. Actually, I am prompted by the spirit to do the things I do. Most people don't understand that. I have a great love for others and if I can use anything I have learned in any way shape or form...I feel I have fulfilled a purpose, and although I don't always know whether I do or not, at least I know I tried. If only a hello to the homeless person standing next to me in the convenience store buying a beer, or a pat on the back and a "how ya doing to someone", I can only hope they were blessed in some way, and that I was perhaps a bright spot in an otherwise dark, or lonely moment. I do not believe in chance meetings. Stuff like that happens to me everday, so I feel like I am always meant to be where I am, and do what's meant for me to do doing at any given time. That has proved true the better part of my life.
I love giving. I am generous to a fault sometimes...but continue to give anyway because it's my nature. The only motivation for being on this site is to network, and to form beautiful, spiritual, honest, lasting, and loving relationships, and friendships that add meaning to my life and the live of others. Friendships that hold eternal value. I am a strong believer of life-long learning, and I know that when we cross paths with others we learn much about ourselves. Others most often shape who we are, and where we will go. Oh...and the things we can do to help others on their path is unbelievable.
I've worked in the film, music, and entertainment industry..., worked for an award-winning film producer/director, (Martin) who is on my friends list, for years, been with, and partied with A-list celebrities, and the likes, etc., etc. Had a wonderful time, but being who I am, I know we are all just human beings in this life. It comes down to who we are as a person, and how we treat everyone we meet. It isn't what we have, how much we earn, or what we don't have. It's who we are, and what we do.
I am not an extremely materialistic person, although I do like the finer things in life, but only to a point. After that, I feel it is wrong actually, due to an humble nature? I would like to think so.
I am simple and very low maintenance. Don't get me wrong, I like nice clothes and love to dress up, and party a little, and love to entertain on occasion, but I am also happy in a tee and and old pair of jeans, and my dirty buck shoes just walking through the woods with my Boston Terrrier. I am happy in the N.C. mountains, in a quaint cabin in front of a fire with burning candles, celtic music, engaging conversation, with a glass of fine wine, and good company. I do the cabin thing as often as possible. I am passionate about my writing, and at the prospect of someday becoming a Southern novelist. I don't even have to be a best-seller. As long as I get published, then I have contributed something to the world of expression, which I love so much.
I have a lovely daughter, Madison, who is an honor student in the 10th grade. She's something else!! It would take a book to describe that unique soul! She's very "other-worldly" in many ways, an old soul in others, a little hippie of sorts, (like I've always kind of been) but still just a kid at heart. I am very proud of her. I have raised her alone since she was a baby. I am currently taking some down time to do some writing, and traveling, and am working on "re-teaching" myself to play the guitar.
I'd like to wrap this up by saying that I hope all who pass through here will read and find something inspiring, or interesting, or perhaps intriguing. If the spirit moves you, get in touch. We never know! I do know there are no coincidences in this life, so all that is left... is destiny.
PEACE and LOVE!
