The New Nashvillains

About Me

The New Nashvillains is a band of four breathtakingly handsome virtuosos formed shortly after the turn of the century, intending on cashing in on what they thought would be a lucrative market, the funeral parlor circuit. When business died down, these persistent pluckers refused to be buried in that graveyard of broken-up bands whose songs disappear like ashes tossed in the wind. No, these hearty harmonizers persevered, shedding their mourning attire to record one of the great debut albums of all time. Once they got around to it.............................. The New Nashvillains are:......................................... Mark Miller, upright bass, grew up in the mountains of Indiana, where as a child he would compose songs to the rhythm of his ax while chopping wood for his family. When wanderlust set in, Mark moved to New York City, yes, New York City, to be part of the Folk Music boom of the early sixties. (Though this was the 1980’s...) There he became roughly 33.3% of The Ex-Husbands, a rollicking country punk trio who toured America, took the nation by storm, moved to Nashville, and disbanded. In Nashville he recorded his exciting solo CD “Dodson Chapel”. Mark also tours the world as a member of BR54-9. www.markmiller.com.......................................... ............................................Brian Waldschlager, guitar, grew up in the hills of East Tennessee, where as a child he would listen to the ghost of Jimmy Rodgers in the wind blowing off the Smokeys while he worked at perfecting his almost perfect Tennessee accent. After saying goodbye to his Knoxville band The Dirt Clods, Brian moved to Nashville and put together the band Shinola (aka Five Bucks), and recorded the album “Hungry Again” with Dolly Parton. Later Brian put out the exciting CD “Down There” and has a new one coming out any day. www.waldschlager.com www.myspace.com/waldschlager2 ............................. ............................................... Michael Webb, mandolin and accordion, was born and bred in Kentucky (or “Old Kentucky” as it is known in song), with bluegrass music seeping in his ears. When he finally grew tired of all that seepage, he moved south to Nashville, where he became one of Music City’s first calls for keyboards, playing and recording with Gary Allan, BJ Thomas, Glenn Tilbrook, Allison Moorer,Stacey Earle, Tim Krekel, and countless others. He also has a rock band called Fugitive Glue, who released the exciting “Mateo” in 2006. www.fugitiveglue.com www.myspace.com/mfwebb  ....................................................Tom Mason, dobro and guitar, grew up near the banks of the Mississippi in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he would pluck a banjo while waiting for the thaw. When the thaw never came, he wandered down the big muddy, got lost in the wilderness, and settled in Nashville where he released two CD’s, the exciting “A Slide Guitar Christmas” and “Where Shadows Fall”. In the interest of finding a vocation a little more consistent than music, Tom became a professional actor, appearing regularly on stage and screen.   www.tommason.net www.myspace.com/tommasonmusic
