Die Melktert Kommissie

Die Melktert Kommissie is a 4-piece afrikaans rock band from Pretoria, South Africa.The band was brought together in 2002 for a battle of the bands competition and ended up taking the crown in the final for best band and best original song.Volroom, the debut 12 track album was recorded in June 2003 and released later that year. Touring to promote the album was difficult at the time as some members were still in school/college and others had full time jobs. It was only as of April 2005 when the band decided to take it as a serious profession and went full time.The second album, Wonderwoorde was recorded in November 2005 and was released early in 2006. The album has been well received by both the public and critics and has received many good reviews in the press.The band line-up changed in late 2006 when the acoustic guitarist/backing vocalist left the band. She was replaced temporarily until the end 2006, when the new member started putting her own band together. The band now consists of four of the five original members.
