..Where do I start? I have 35 years of life that have made me who I am, what I believe in, and what I work for.I am a school counselor and a single mom of a 7-year old son with autism. No other person in my life has made me smile and laugh more than my child. But, with autism, comes frustration, sadness, anxiety, anger and uncertainty. Autism has taught me more patience than I knew possible, proud moments that I will always remember, and the realization that things don't always turn out the way we hope - there are no guarantees.I think it helps my life that I love being a school counselor. I love my job, look forward to going to work every day and love working with high school and college students. This year at Piner I have met some amazing students and teachers that I am so fortuante to work with.
My wish for everyone is that they find something that they are passionate about to pursue as their life's work.
